I purchased the 14" Evans Hazy 300 Snare Side, and am glad I did! This is an excellent replacement drumhead, and it made my snare sound even better! Through alternating between Remo and Evans products, I'm finding that Evans sound the best!

This head is absolutely perfect for my snare drum. I can play very soft, and it will keep the same sound and response as if i were rocking out, but the volume is just "turned down". Unlike many resonant snare heads, it's more durable and lasts a long time, even under high-tension tuning. The snares don't damage the head, even if they are pulled very tightly. I don't know of another head that works quite like this one.

I purchased this head in hopes of making my too bright, too tense poplar shell snare drum have an open dark sound. And although there is only so much heads can do, this did it. In combination with a J1 etched head I was able to make my poplar snare sound significantly darker. The overtones blended nicely but they do ring for a while. The only complaint I have is that the head is inherently delicate due to how thin they had to make the head to produce this sound.

The Evans 300 Hazy is the best snareside head I have used in my nearly 10 years of playing. I have mine tuned pretty tight, along with the strainer, and absolutely love the sensitivity of it. So far, it has been very consistent in its sound and holds tuning well. I highly doubt I will ever try another snareside head.

Man these snare head are the best although poor Remo Ambassador can't make them as strong as Evans Hazy 300. The actual head feels alot better than Remo Ambassador Snare side which pop rips and burst. These is one of the top best snare bottom heads in the whole of other drumhead companies. Buy this head its phenomenal!
