The Evans EQ Resonance Gate System Pad is constructed with a hinged muffling pad on one side with a smaller one on the other for use with smaller drums. The unique plastic gate attaches to the top of the pad and adjusts to control the length of resonance or sustain. The closer the gate is to the damping pad, the shorter the sustain.

i was skeptical about buying this, i usually use a folded up blanket to muffle my bass drum. But when i installed the EQ Gate Pad and gave it that first kick i loved the clean deep thud it helped to produce. I use the emad2 bass drum head and eq gate pad and factory head with porthole as my reso head. i will prolly buy the emad reso head soon.
No longer do we live in a world in which our bass drums can only be muffled with a pillow. This thing helped to muffle my bass drum perfectly to achieve the ultimate "BOOM!". Works great with the emad muffling system bass drum head. GET THIS THING.
My guitarist and bassist had been complaining about resonance on my set since I got it(tama imperialstar). The bass resonated forever and I didnt really want a huge pillow in it. I stuck this against the batter head and put the plastic all the way to the front. Paired that with new heads all the way around a remo falam slam and e rings and my drums dont ring at all anymore. Good Product if you want something small and adjustable
