    OMG! this is an amazing head. although it is not 2 ply it s still gives off that beautiful dark sound! the emad ring offers a great amount of dampening. you only need a small pillow with the large emad ring. it also looks great on any drum set especially one with back hardware!

  • Lovin' the Onyx

    Got this for my 22' kick and love it. It has a nice punchy sound and sounds great when miked up. This head comes with two damping rings, I'm using the wider one right now and its perfect. It does not choke the kick drum but tames the overtones. I'm using onyx on all my drums now, which look great with my black glitter wrap!

  • Very good sound, real deep and punchy!

    The EMAD ring really helps dampen any overtones, and only a small pillow will be needed to perfect the sound. i expected evans to amaze me with this drum head and they did! im in love with it, and its very loud and has that strong attack that you can literally feel when you press down on that bass pedal. The dark and rich sound is great for metal and hard rock, but its probably limited to those areas because of that. it looks amazing, sounds amazing, feels amazing... its just amazing! Thank you Evans!
