The Evans EC1 is a 14-mil single-ply head with an Edge Control ring mounted on the underside to produce a warm and dense sound. The EC1 gives you improved balance between attack and sustain and extended durability compared to traditional singly-ply heads. The coating adds additional warmth, focus, and depth to the drumhead.

I have these heads on my tama kit at home, and they fit my style of music perfectly. When I was at the local Guitar center, i was trying to decide between white coated or clear heads. Someone then suggested these, so i brought them home, tuned them up, and honestly, ive never had better heads. They give you a great full-bodied warm tone without losing attack, so i think that they're an awesome buy.
These are okay. period. i was expecting them to be the same as Remo Pinstripes when i got em (GC was out) so i picked up these, and they have reeaally open tone, much higher pitch than pinstripes, my 16" floor tom with these was equal with my 12" rack tom with pinstripes. They are good heads and worth a try, but i was dissapointed and they are no substitutes for Pinstripes.
