Product Information

Instead of dampening, edge treatment tweaks the overtones and response.

EC Reversed Dot snare heads come with a unique "reversed dot" made with the same 3mil material as the ring. Each head consists of a 7mil top ply and 10mil bottom ply for maximum durability, especially with the reversed dot version (which totals 20mils thick at its center). This features the sophisticated edge control system that banishes unwanted overtones.

A translucent frosted coating lends a unique, attractive look. Despite the head's relative thickness, it has a forgiving feel; ghost notes project tremendously well; rim shots offer a "tweaked" palette of rich overtones; and center-of-the-head strokes yield fat, focused tones. The stress-relieved reversed dot patch has the unique effect of eliminating some mid-range frequencies, yielding a desirable crack at all tuning ranges.

For snare drums it's particularly effective and yields a pre-EQ'd sound that will please both player and sound engineer.

NEW REVIEW - Great on snare, great on toms!

This drumhead is really good on snare. Especially if you don't have microphones. It sounds really good without any mics or anything. I was messing around and put the 14 in on my floor tom for my Gretsch catalina jazz shell pack and i have an ebony ambassador as the reso. The two heads sound amazing together!!! I use just a regular white coated on my snare and the ec2 on my floor tom. I really want to buy a 12 inch head for my rack tom.

AMAZING HEAD!

This is an amazing head. I had the worst snare ever. It was one of those stock ones that comes with me pearl set and it had this horrible ring on the stock head that came with it and I could never get that nice pop and crack with it. I put this head on and there was no more ring and I got that crack I was looking for. The only reason I gave the quality a 4.5 was because there were a few small holes in it when I got it. But other than that, this is the perfect head to buy if you want to make your bad snare sound alot better.

this is it!

after trying so many diffrent snare heads from all of the major companies; somebody finally got it it right! this so versatile with its ability to get give the sound that drummers look for without comprimising our playing. you beat this head hard on a break down in a song and even with solos and fills it gives "it" to you with every stoke of the stick. i tell all my head bangin'(drummers) partners to try it. all of my kits have evans Emad g1 resonants(kick and tom) hazy 300 bottom snare and EC2's on top! i won't play nothing else.

Great Drum Head

I have a lousy pearl forum series snare and had been using a stock pearl protone head. My snare used to ring a ton but this head allows it to give off a quick, powerful cracking sound. If you have a bad snare this will make your snare sound much better, with this i recommend get E-rings to stop all ringing from your snare.

NEW REVIEW - Pop and Crack

The skin made my junk snare sound a lot better than it did but I don't have the crack that I want. I can't do rim shots it doesn't work. besides those two things it is a great head.
