I put these on my hummingbird, and absolutely loved the way the sounded out the gate. Really full, bright, and each chord rang out really well...BUT, the real benefit of these strings is how long they are holding up. Its been almost 4 weeks, and they still sound brand new. I can't believe they aren't coated, these are outstanding acoustic strings.

have tried these twice now. once on a very low end acoustic, thought maybe that was why i didn't like them. fast forward about two months and need to replace strings on a mid range acoustic so thought i would try again....... NOPE!, made a $800 dollar guitar sound like the low end $100 dollar one. sound was not even close to warm. very bright, but also harsh, tiny, metallic sounding, i love the Ernie Ball Earthwood strings, so its back to those going forward

Disappointed in these strings

By Charles Harrell

from Dallas,TX

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

With all the hype about this new aluminum alloy string I was expecting these strings to be something new and different . Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. These strings are not near as bright as phosphor bronze strings and actually sound dull to me. Nothing better than a new set of strings on my 10 year old Martin D18, but these did nothing for me or the guitar. I bought two sets, but will be retuning the second set for my normal Elixir lights. .

Be Your Own Judge

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I'll keep it short. Buy a set and try them. In fact, buy a set for every guitar you own, really, just do it. Thank you to Ernie Ball for another top notch innovation.

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Bought a set of these strings since I am an Ernie Ball electric string player. First 2 strings went on well! Then my "D" string, broke while tuning to pitch. Mind you I'm not playing in E standard but a half step lower than E, so Eb(D#). Not impressed. Good thing I bought a second set of acoustic strings. Won't mention that brand name. After stringing up the guitar, the strings sound good! Just wish the 3rd string hadn't broke.

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I run my guitars using either Matrix Infinity or LR Baggs pickups through pedal board/PA combo. These strings last me two 3 hr. gigs and share a similar tone to Phosphor bronze strings but, HOTTER. Breedlove recommends D'addario EXP16 which feel great and last long but my Stage Auditorium's Rosewood back and sides/Sitka Spruce top combo still sounded a bit muted and scooped. These strings are exactly what Breedlove should ship with. They brought out upper mid complexity to single notes and lots of chime & bloom for strumming. Harmonics pop yet, I can still hear a strong fundamental tone with a uniquely distinctive voice! WOW!

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

The bass and mids ring out a little more than the highs. Which gives it a balance. I would give this a try if I was someone who want an enhanced sound to their chords.

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I bounce around between strings very often just for the fun of it. Always dug Ernie Ball's EarthWood, but saw these recently. So I bought a couple of each gauge and strung my Martin with the medium-lights and my Taylor with the lights. Love em' both. I change strings often so I'm not too worried about the "test of time". Perhaps these will cause me to stick to a certain brand and set of strings.

        What a pleasant difference

        By William J

        from somewhere Pa

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Well, the proof is in the sound and all I can say is "Wow!" I do not know how they will sound after they've been on for a while, but out the gate they are a real adrenaline shot, sonically. I cannot imagine using anything different from this point forward unless there are QC issues down the line at Ernie Ball. I am going to get a case of them. I'm using light-mediums and will try the mediums. I've used $20. TI strings and was not impressed with them. It just goes to show why there are so many options in the marketplace. Give these a try and form your own opinion.

You Must Absolutely Try These For Yourself

        By John Paul

        from Ceres, Ca

Comments about Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I purchased these strings not too long ago, I'd say about a week, and I'm loving them. I own a Yamaha FD105, and I usually string it up with Ernie Ball Earthwood 80/20 bronze strings or Martin Marquis Phosphor Bronze strings. After fitting these strings on my guitar and letting them ease up after a half hour jam session, I distinctly noticed the tone of these strings are more well rounded and even than that of my usual Earthwood or Marquis set up. Nothing is left out of the limelight with these strings. They have great low end and chime, making for great sounding chords and solos in standard, even allowing deep chunky rhythms in drop D or C, and nothing is blatantly overpowering. The feel of the strings are great, nice and smooth, playing as well as any electric strings when it comes to bends and such. Along with all that goodness, these strings last. I've had them for a week, and I play every day for 4 hours MINIMUM, and they've held their luster without cleaning or any kind of maintenance. These strings are fit for purpose when it comes to any style of music, be it blues and good ol' classic rock or the deepest darkest pits of punk rock and metal. I recommend you buy at least one set to try out for yourself
