so i just bought an Ibanez xpt700 recently, it came in, i jammed a bit, but i decided i absolutely hated the strings, i think they were d'addario 9's, too thin a sound for me, so i immidiately swapped them out for Not Even Slinkys, now i've always been an Ernie Ball man and i always will be, so i knew these strings would sound amazing, but the thickest gauge i had used before was Skinny Top Heavy Bottom, so i wasn't sure how it would sound, but when i finally setup my guitar, it sounded amazing, it just gives me a chunky, pure sound, it gives you this richness you wouldn't find anywhere else, cleans are punishing and distortion it's just so chunky, but you can still hear every single note clearly, it's not just noise, and i've heard stuff about how it's hard to bend 12 gauge strings and all, but after you build up your callouses a bit more, it's not a problem, you can still bend just as efficiently as you would with thinner gauge strings, but your breakdowns sound awesome, it sounds like you're like in Drop A when you're really in Drop C
these strings are awesome for drop tuning. they have awesome lows but i was a little dissapointed with the string bends on the b and e strings.
