Overview

Ernie Ball Coated Slinky electric guitar strings combine the latest technological advancements in string manufacturing. All wound strings are treated with a micro-thin layer of enamel that prevents decay and corrosion up to five times more than uncoated sets. In addition to treating the wound strings, each plain string is reinforced with a patented winding of titanium wire. Titanium's inherent strength prevents string breakage, string slippage, and is proven to keep your guitar strings in tune better than conventional plain strings. Ernie Ball Coated Slinky guitar strings maintain the feel and sound of uncoated sets, combining the added protection with the vibrant tone Ernie Ball customers have relied on for over 50 years.

All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and the most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance, and long life.

Ernie Ball is a pioneer of rock and roll guitar strings. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai, and Slash are among the long list of Slinky players.

Gauges: 11-14-18p-28-38-48.

Excellent strings!!!!!!!!

By Brad Hall

from Glenpool, OK

Comments about Ernie Ball 3120 Coated Titanium Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I've had these strings on my Gibson SG Standard for about 5 months, playing at very least an hour each week. They are just now starting to lose their tone. Previously, I used the uncoated Power Slinkys and they only lasted a month at best. At only $10, they're definitely more bang for your buck.

Worth the money.

By Tristan

from Orlando, FL

Comments about Ernie Ball 3120 Coated Titanium Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

Alright so I bought 3 sets of these strings about a month and a half ago and I'm still on the first set. I put the set on my SG and when I was you can see a small difference in the look of the string. The enamel layer covering the string shows a little bit if you look closely but that's not a problem. I also noticed that the strings have some reinforcement down at the ball ends and it sure helps. I can bend strings a lot more with less worry about knocking them out of tune. The sound of the strings is a little different when the guitar isn't plugged in. Kind of a dull sound like the strings have already been worn in especially the E string. It's not that bright sound I'm used to from Ernie ball when I put new strings on. I don't mind this at all cause it's sounds perfectly fine when playing it just came as a surprise. But overall these strings are great, long lasting, great sounding. Befoe I forget, the enamel layer protects very well from sweat and dirt! The strings still look very clean. I'm gonna go buy more! So if you're thinking about buying these to try them out, go ahead! It's worth the extra money.

THE strings for sweaty hands!

By Raymond

from Cairo, Egypt

Comments about Ernie Ball 3120 Coated Titanium Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

these strings are just awesome for people who tend to sweat a lot when they play, regular ernie strings used to last like 2 days with me, then they just lose there shine and color...then after a couple of weeks they just die out on the other hand, the titanium coated ones are amazing! so far ive been using them for a week, and the shine's still there, which enables quick sliding across the neck and the tone is almost the same! i highly recommend these!

Not That Awesome...

By Joseph Towers

from P-mount, California

Comments about Ernie Ball 3120 Coated Titanium Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I gave it three stars because out of all the strings that came in the pack, only three are left on my guitar. The rest had to be replaced earlier than planned. The strings werent coated all that great, they went out of tune easily and the broke easily too. I think from now on, I'll stick to Super Slinkys.

ehhhh....

By Tim

from Vernon, Ct.

Comments about Ernie Ball 3120 Coated Titanium Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

These coated strings will perserve the tone of your strings longer and your strings will probably last a little longer, but there are some minor negatives. For example the coating on the d,g,and b strings will get scratched off leaving the string a-bit coarse. Not a big deal, but it bugged me. Also, usually you know when it is time for new strings, but with these you'll end up breaking a string in the middle of a show. (I did so during an important audition.) Although there are some pros to these strings, I would rather use un-coated slinky's because I often clean my strngs anyways. Good idea, just not for me.

By Joe

Comments about Ernie Ball 3120 Coated Titanium Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

About month and a half ago I put these strings on one of my guitars and then a week later I moved both of my guitars into my un-air conditioned garage. They were exposed to major humidity for about 3 weeks. My other guitar had on regular strings and within a week they were rusted badly and right now i still have the same stings on the guitar i put these on and only 1 string has a speck of rust.

Comments about Ernie Ball 3120 Coated Titanium Power Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

Yeah these are some pretty good strings, to get the playability of classic ernie ball strings with the coating so they last longer, i play mine in dropped-c tuning and have not had a problem yet. i recommend these.
