Overview

Gauges .010 .013 .017 .030 .042 .052.

M-Steel Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Slinky Strings are the perfect hybrid set for those who like thick bottom strings without sacrificing the ability to solo on smaller strings. Ernie Ball's M-Steel strings are made of M-Steel, short for Maraging Steel, is a superalloy used in high stress applications for the aerospace and defense industries.

The wound strings are comprised of a patented Super Cobalt alloy wrapped around a Maraging steel hex core wire, producing a richer and fuller tone with powerful low end response. M-Steel plain strings are comprised of a specially tempered steel for maximum fatigue resistance. A patented winding of steel around the ball end of the plain strings reduces slippage, breakage and stays in tune better than conventional plain strings.

Features
  • Ultra high output guitar strings
  • Constructed of Maraging Steel
  • Super Cobalt alloy wrapped around a Maraging Steel hex core wire
  • Provides maximum fatigue resistance

great!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2915 M-Steel Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

these strings are amazing. they have excellent tone and sustain and they definitely carry the sound better. I had to turn my amp down from where I had it before to have the same noise level (but turned it back up) I have Rocksmith 2014 for ps3 and it solved all the problems of the game picking up the notes I had been playing, a very frustrating problem. ive had the strings for 3 weeks now and I play pretty hard and haven't had to retune but maybe once besides changing tunes, I play everything from standard clear down to drop Cb, and it never loses tune or tone. id give these strings 10 stars out of 5 if I could

A Whole New Sound

By

from Detroit, MI

Comments about Ernie Ball 2915 M-Steel Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been a fan of Ernie Ball strings for some time. When I heard about this new string construction, I was very interested in stringing up a set. After a quick tune on my guitar, I could immediately notice a brighter tone compared to the nickel wound Skinny Top Heavy Bottom set I typically purchase. I felt as though I had a slightly faster action along the neck due to the size of the strings. Looking forward to testing the longevity of these strings on my current setup. I will buy these strings again.

Loved em, but then......

By

Comments about Ernie Ball 2915 M-Steel Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

Let me start by saying that I have been a regular slinky user for years. I wanted to try something different so I picked up a set of these. When I first played my guitar with these on, I thought they were amazing! They sounded great and felt great, for a while. I've had them on for about 3 weeks now (which may be a long time for some)and they sound dead and the string noise is horrible. Every hand movement up or down the neck sounds like a pick slide. The strings also feel more coarse, and no, they are not rusty. If you are a "change your strings every week" guy, then these will work for you. On my way to GC right now to buy something different.

They wear out WAY too quickly!

By

from East Meadow, NY

Comments about Ernie Ball 2915 M-Steel Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

I was very excited to get a set of M-Steels at Guitar Center a couple of weeks ago. When I first strung up, everything sounded great. Hot output and a great, clear low end. However, the strings started losing tone after just TWO DAYS of normal playing! Within a week and a half, they had the feeling of old, dead strings - no more snap and poor sustain. For the amount of money I spent, I was expecting much more from these strings. Very disappointing experience! I would not recommend them unless you don't mind spending thirteen bucks for two days' worth of performance.

Superb Tone!

By

from Austin, Texas

Comments about Ernie Ball 2915 M-Steel Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Electric Guitar Strings:

Tone freaks look no further! Ernie Ball's M-Steels are the definition of "tone". When running through a Matchless HC30 and Vox AC30HWH you won't settle or compromise for less when the topic is "Superb Tone"; trust me. After 24hours of play It is safe to say that these strings are of the highest quality build with rich harmonics and phenomenal sustain. Compared to the regular Ernie Balls these feel thicker, due to construct, and easier to press against the fingerboard for sweeps throughout the neck if thats your thing. Quick tip: wrap as much string as you can on the machine heads for the best string resonance, sonic dynamics, and intonation.
