I had been unsatisfied with the weak slapping dynamics of the cheap strings I used. I tried every tone and action setting i had. I had always wanted to try these, so I did, lowered the action as low as It would go and threw them on. easiest stringing job ever, btw, they bent and didn't resist as some do. they barely had to stretch, there is NO fret buzz and the slapping comes through thick and funky. I have tried the cheap strings, flatwound, etc. and these are the most playable and toneful I have tried yet. add me onto that list of slinky players for good.

I bought these hoping that medium gauge would be great for my bass. As soon as I put them on, they made a buzz sound and when i hammered on they sounded terrible. The gauge on these strings are not high enough. I do not recommend these. I recommend POWER SLINKY. They are the best and perfect strings for a bass player.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:

I really like these strings. When I first had to change bass strings, I was considering my options for what to try. I ended up choosing Ernie Ball because it is a brand I trust, I use them on all my guitars and my bass. I like that the E and A string are slightly thicker, because I can tune down to Drop D and sometimes even Drop C without the lower strings getting too loose.

    Great Strings

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:

Put a set of Hybrid Slinkys on my American Made Fender Jazz Bass yesterday. OMG; these strings are everything I what in a bass string. Very Punchy with great tone. I've previous had DDarario's, Nickels and Chromes as well as Marcus Miller's but it not even close to the Ernie;s; these strings rock and cheap too. My bass has come alive

    Awesome strings

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:

I replaced the factory-shipped Fender strings with these...WOW! The difference was amazing. The clarity was incredible and there was alot of punch in them too. Didn't sound muddy or get overtoned like the Fender strings. The price was very affordable and on sale they were even cheaper than a factory Fender set! They stay tuned FAR longer than originals. Big time sound, everyday musician priced, superman performance. I think I'm going to be playing Ernie Ball strings for a looong time.

These strings are great for slap and rock playing. I play a Fender Mexican P Bass. I will always use these strings and no other ones. These are the best bass strings from ernie ball in my opinion.

    These strings are SUPERB!

    By Yung Texxuz

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:

These are probably the best strings on the market for the cheapest price. I have a cheap bass and after the stock strings wore out i decided to give these a try and it makes my bass sound great. You can use these on a cheap bass and it will sound like a top of the line bass. You can use these strings with any kind of style of music you play. They lasted me for about 3 months. I was also really impressed by the slapability of the strings. These strings make your runs and your slaps sound great. Overall, this would be a great buy!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:

BEST BASS STRINGS, PERIOD.......There is NO better bass string out there. I have used them for years and will continue to use them from now on. Great for all types of music. I use them on all of my Fender basses weather it's the Geddy - Jazz, Duff - Jazz Special or my booming P-Bass Standard. Monster Tone..........................

    hybrids...a great string

    By old bass guy

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:

I always have used flatwound strings because I didn't get the finger noise like I did with rounds. I decided to try some roundwounds and put a set of Hybrids on my Fender Geddy Jazz. I liked them from the start. First, they had more "give" to them than the rounds, less tension. Second, I didn't get the finger noise like I did with other rounds. They are roundwound but they seem smoother than other rounds I've tried. I play various types of rock, R&B, and country. The Hybrids do great with all types of music I play. I have to admit, I'm not the best at slapping but the EB Hybrids seem to be good for slapping, too bad I'm not. Overall I really like the strings and plan on staying with them for a while. I've had this set on for about 6 weeks now and they still have some "zing" to them. Try them and see what you think.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:

i just bought these strings today and i was just amazed at how much better they made my old epiphone accu-bass sound. i found these after playing a friend of mines bass which had these strings on it and fell in love with the sound and tone. And the price is great great if your on budget like i am. (no job = no money) i would recomend these strings to anybody looking for a deeper, crisper sound. all in all great buy

Comments about Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Round Wound Bass Guitar Strings:

i played bass for only a year and so i thought i should give my bass some new strings. i have an ibanez gsr200. and so ive been doing some research on this site. i always thought elixirs were the best even for bass. ive been seeing high reviews for this and it also costs half the price of elixirs. i bought these and im not disappointed at all. these strings are actually perfect. there is nothing whatsoever anything bad about it. its just what every bassist wants. it really gave my guitar a great tone and it just gives you a better feeling about you and your guitar. sound quality difference was huge too! buy this now!
