Round sounding flats

Comments about Ernie Ball 2816 Slinky Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I have these on both of my basses. The feel and sound are great. I hate the harsh fret clash sound of new round wound strings. The feel of round wounds can be harsh also. These strings still have round wound punch without the unwanted noises and are very smooth on the fingers.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2816 Slinky Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I put these on my Fender American Standard P bass. Have had them on for a year now and the tone is still awsome, actually better then when new. Brand new they are bright like round wound but no string noise on slides, they settle into a nice thick punchy tone. I put them on any bass that sounds too "thin" in a mix. I play on a worship team every Sunday with elec guitar, acoustic guitar (sometimes 2), keys, acoustic drums, sometimes sax and they sit perfectly in the mix.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2816 Slinky Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I had Guitar Center order these and put them on my Ibanez GIO, and it only took me about 1 song to figure out I was going to love them! Easy on your fingers and I also find that for someone who's still new to this they are easier to press down on the fret and get less of that buzzing noise it makes when we miss...a lot!! :-)

Comments about Ernie Ball 2816 Slinky Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings:

Bought 3 packs of these flatwounds and broke a string out of 2 different packs while installing them. They sounded OK on my Fender MB5 with the tone turned almost off but sounded horrible on my Squier MB5 with Bartolini Pickups and my Ibanez. I will not buy these again, I will stick to the Power Slinky's.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2816 Slinky Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings:

I have been toying around with trying Flatwounds because I wasn't sure they would provide the tone I need for our rock n roll band. Boy am I glad I gave them a try. Not only do they sound great, but I love the silky feel under my fingers, so comfortable.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2816 Slinky Flatwound 5-String Bass Strings:

These strings were very easy to set up on my Dean Edge five string. They sound incredibly clear and bright, and they feel amazing compared to my usual Super Slinkys. I can actually hear myself better with my band, and I feel as if I play more precisely with these. Worth every penny.
