I would not recommend Not Even Slinky's for every guitar but, I use these strings in standard tuning and I could not be happier. These are really aggressive stings not for the weak of heart, or of finger. They sound amazing! and they really don't break very often. I play every day and only break one every five or six months, amazing. p.s I'm sure there good for down tunings to.

The gauges for these strings are great for those indicated in the description and also for low tension Drop B. The only problem I have with these strings is the .24 gauge plain string. It simply doesn't sound all that great; it should have been wound.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

saw these last year and decided to try a set. i usally use ernie ball 10-52's and these are 12-56. i only have recently got a second guitar so i was constantly changing tunings, i tune from E flat to D to C to B. now i have one for E flat- D , the 10-52's work great and one for C - B and these work amazing. the extragirth of the lower strings provides fat tone and they last a long time. so all you down tuners or anybody who wants a fat tone you owe it to yourself to try out a set unless you play a lot shreding leads and a lot of bends .

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I love my D'addario strings but i went to a music store to get a set they didn't have the ones i wanted. So i got these and gave them a try and man i am not disappointed. My guitar is in drop B and it plays beautifully. They sound great and they feel amazing. I would use these again.

    Must have for tuning down

    By Martin

    from Lake Havasu City, AZ

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I play one of my guitars tuned to drop D down two steps down (B - C#) and got tire of the constant buzzing and sloppy sounding play. As the package says, these strings aren't slinky at all. In fact the unwound "G" string is thicker than most of the wound strings on my more conservatively tuned guitars. Even at the low tuning the strings feel only slightly heavier than slinky strings at standard tuning. Highly recommend if you want your down low playing to sound tight. If you like the string jangle noise, these aren't the strings for you.

BEST STRING FOR DROP C (CGCFAD)

    By quincey cash

    from Marshall, MO

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

these strings have great output and amazing sustain, also I wouldn't recommend using these strings in E standard (EADGBE) because in drop C, they feel so tight, it seems like they are gonna pop. Overall AMAZING strings, I'm getting more of these

    GREAT STRINGS

    By David Tucker

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been using Ernie Ball strings since 2008 and they haven't let me down once! I play in low tunings such as Drop A#, Drop B, Drop C, and Drop C#. These strings are great! My pinch harmonics sound close enough to Zakk Wylde's. I'll never use anything else! #ErnieBallForLife

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been using these with my Schecter Damien Solo Elite 6 and it practically sings to me! I can go from Drop D standard to Drop A# in a heartbeat and not worry about the strings snapping.

    The only ones I use.

    By Corey Richardson

    from Jacksonville, Fl

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

These are the only 12's I use and have tried many others yet none surpass the Ernie Balls. They have a very comfortable tight feel that has some muscle and just feels very substantial. They bend just fine if you're not a weakling and maintain that brand new string sound for months. As for going lower than drop C, I would recommend some 13's as long as you are never exceeding drop A on a 6 string guitar, which you shouldn't do in the first place. Hope this helps anyone considering the best strings available.

I have put 3 sets of these on my guitar for a little over a year now, and every time they sounds great! I have my guitars in Drop C usually, but I have managed to get these all the way down to Drop G. Long lasting, amazing feeling strings!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

the guy at g.c. recommended these i wanted dr strings but he said these were good i dont play that often like a couple hours a week and the wound strings stretched themselves out from the bottom after a couple of weeks i think the 6th string sounds dull and not good at all for drop c i wont use these strings again

    Not Even Slinks... <3

    By Chris Taylor

    from Oxford MI

Comments about Ernie Ball 2626 Nickel Not Even Slinky Drop Tuning Electric Guitar Strings:

ive been playing guitar for 6 years... and have mostly played metal. as a guitar player who plays heavy metal i like to tune down to like drop B haha. However, i like to play more mellow stuff as well and like to keep in standard. i bought Not Even Slinks in like March of 2010 and broke today (November 2011) these things are dddduuurrraaabbbllllleeeeee!!!!!!! and they sound kick booty! im only writing a review because im buying a new pair right now and thought what the heck... so i HHHIIIGGGHHHLLLYYY recommend these strings. Although if you are looking to swap some 9's out with these you need to adjust the bridges spring tension. Have fun with these!
