I've been playing guitar for about a year and the best I had ever used were Boomers, and the only others I had used were Fender and Gibson Brite wires. I just bought these the other day and they changed my guitars sound completly. Before I had Boomers and they sounded ok, but i wanted something better that had a crisper sound and these were it. With distortion they have alot of crunch and on clean they sound really glassy, and they bend very easily. Bottom line, these are THE BEST!

I had these put on my electric not to long ago and they really don't suit my tastes well, at first they caused a lot of buzz, they were new so it was expected but after continued use the buzzing persisted so I raised my bridge,it got a little better. They don't stay on tune for to long on mine, and I have brand new tuning machines on it, their not the best, but their ok, power slinkys are better suited to my taste.

Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Pink Electric

By disturbed12598

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

Perfect strings for rocking. Much more comfortable to play on than 10 gauge. They're easy to slide on and less power needed to strum. It's less strain and your fingers too. Great strings that I highly reccomend.

Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Electric

By Vedderlution

from Gainesville, Fl

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

I have used a couple of different brands of electric strings and these have been my favorite so far. These strings make playing any type of music fun and easy, allowing bends very easily. These strings also hold up very good, which may come in handy if you can't get to guitar center as much as you would like. These are very reliable and durable strings that can give you a professional sound.

Super Slinky

By hbucker

from HR, CO

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

Tonally, Super Slinky strings are quite good: balanced, smooth and harmonicallly rich. My only real problem with them is that I have a hard time getting them to last very long. Within a relatively short period of time, compared to other brands, they become dull and lifeless. On some guitars it's worse than others but I own 6 different electrics of different brands and this these strings become dull and lose their edge on all of them. Obviously, if you change strings after every gig or once every week or so this wouldn't matter. But if long string life is important to you, I can't recommend the Slinkys.

Great Strings

By Afro man

from Oswego, IL

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings are very light and bendable strings. The only problem I've had with these is tuning more often in the beginning but once you've had them for more than a week you should be fine.

Good strings, not durable.

By guitarplayer111

from boston

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

I first got these strings because many of my favorite guitarists used them, and when I first put them on my guitar it felt comfortable, bended easily, and played great. But then I broke a string, new set! about 3 months later, broke a string again, new set! 3 weeks ago, broke a string again, new set! 10 minutes ago, broke a string, new set! these strings are not durable, but they play great. what i recommend is buying the beefy slinky if you are tough on your strings, i'm talking about heavy vibratos and jimi hendrix style bending.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

I never put much thought into strings, I always used D Addario XL 9 gauge. I switched after 20 years to Ernie Ball Super Slinkys and holy moly what a difference! I can play for 6-7 hours at a time without getting my finger tips all chopped up. You can bend these babys as far as you want and they keep screaming and hold a tune very well. I like these so much ive given out packs to my friends to turn them on so they can see what they been missing out on! Seriously Im that impressed.

        good for beginners

        By greekbandman

        from Glenside, PA

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

I believe that these Ernie ball strings are great for beginner guitar players because they are thin and easy to press down. Thus making your fingers not hurt as much. I think that more beginners will be less prone to quitting guitar if their fingers don't hurt as much.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are great for all guitarists. The strings are easy to press down for small hands and beginning guitarists, but once you hear the tone, you'll understand why many professionals use them. Not only that, but they have a long life-span and are a great price! Buy today!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

The Super Slinky strings are great strings at a price that is next to nothing. They sound great and will really improve the sound quality of your guitar. However, for the same price you can get the skinny top heavy bottom strings, which, in my opinion, sound even better.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

These slinky strings are really good if you enjoy classics and aucostics. I have a les paul and they make really good for those but if you are looking for a heavy metal sound try the beefy's or the hybrids.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

Before I got these strings, I used Lyon Strings that I found at Target because they were the only ones that I could find at a store that I went to at least once a week. I stopped at the Guitar Center and bought these as a replacement for a .009 inch string. I put it on, plucked it a couple of times, then quickly put the rest of the strings on. AMAZING. PERIOD.

        By Ed

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

About 3 years ago I switched to the 9 gauge Ernie Ball's and since then, I have never broken a string, despite playing at least 2 hours a day, and leaving a set on my guitar for months at a time. I have never had any qualms with these strings, they sound great, play great, and last forever, without noticeable loss in tone.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2223 Nickel Super Slinky Custom Gauge Electric Guitar Strings:

The strings that came with my guitar were a little bit harsh on my fingers. My skinny fingers aren't that strong. This strings are just so easy on my fingers. I can hold down a note or bend a string without pain. I'm not sure I'll ever switch to other strings.
