I keep coming back to these string... I've tried various other brands, DR, Dunlop, Dean Markley, etc., but I keep coming back to these. I've been using them for about 3 years now and have yet to break a single string. That's the main issue I have with every other string that I've tried. Within 1 to 2 weeks of re-stringing, with every other brand I've tried, I end up breaking at least one string and sometimes multiples. Sound is good and the tone lasts as long as any other that I've tried.

They sound nice when you first get them on. However, when I used these strings they started to break and didn't even last for more than two months. The only reason I got rid of my old ones was because they were just too worn, but they never broke. Do not buy these strings unless you intend on paying for another set soon.

Regular Slinky Not Stinky!

By David

from Monroe, NC

My son uses these strings and the sound is really nice. They have a real bright "growl" to them. They strings come sealed in a pack very well...like they say on the back of the pack, you do sense that they are fresh. Even though Ernie Ball has been around for years, I have just started to use the bass strings myself and I have found them just as good. They have that bright punchy sound like hitting hard on piano keys. Oh yes and American Made! Can't beat that in my book.

No sense in spending more

By Robert Tonkinson

from chattanooga tn

These are more of a blues, classic rock, and country kind of string, so if you're into metal or harder rock, you may want to look at either a lighter or a heavier string; also depending on your guitar. But i think that the 10s are an all around good sounding string, they're reliable, and they're easy on the wallet.

Cheap, but reliable.

Awesome strings. Out of six sets I only broke one string. They have a great tone and sound sweet even without an amp.

Great for a starter set!

By Johnathan Parkerson

If you've been playing for a while & have enough strength built up in your fingers, I'd reccommend going to power slinky to get a fatter tone (if that's what you like).

Old Friends...

By Carlton Buehrer

from Longboat Key, FL

Tried them all over the past ~40 years and many of them are really good. Seem to always come back to EB strings though - these in particular. Usually buy the 12 packs. Only the gauge I use has gone up from 8's to 10's. Price is always pretty much the same. I find them extremely dependable, harmonically outstanding, and they wear very well. I'll usually replace a full set every other stringing (usually twice a week) with the 10, 13, and 17's in between (which can be purchased in sets of 6 ea.). Use 'em on Strats, Teles, & LP's now, but many others in the past. Great strings, great store. Buy 'em!

Good Strings at a good price

By Steve Soria

from Miami, FL

I've used them in Les Pauls and Jacksons. They feel good. They're light, so they are easy on your fingers but not too soft or too heavy. They sound and feel balanced and even, and stay in tune for the most part once you've stretched them out. I used to use them to play in E-standard, but I went up a gauge. They sound and they last a good amount of time to be somewhat reliable. I have broken a few over the years, but I pick really hard. So, a lot of my strings take quite a beating. These hold up pretty good, and for the price, they're pretty good.
