I put these on my Epiphone Sheraton, and I found that the strings were too vibraty, specially with the open notes. I play a lot of Smiths/Johnny marr and Oasis, and saw that JM and Noel gallagher use this string gauge. So I bought them, put them on, and I found that the strings I regular use, the .11 gauge super slinkies, were able to recreate their sound more accurately.

Strings that wont let you down

By lamchopsuey

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

The best part about ernie ball strings is that they're really affordable. They last and feel good on my Strat. Always have a couple packs (just in case) to save the day when the infamous g-string breaks. I recommend buying more than one pack, they're cheap!

A Straight and To-The-Point Review

By NilGuitar

from Bartlett, IL

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

The 10 Gauge Ernie Ball Slinky strings are easy to play with. They bend as much I need them to, and they don't break. Alot of the big name bands use these strings, yet Ernie Ball keeps there prices very affordable. Good sustain, bright high end and resonant lows. They seem to sound exceptional on solid-body guitars.

Great Strings

By TheJoker428

from Miami, FL

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

Ernie Ball strings are the best guitar strings on the market. They last a long time and give your guitar a great sound. Eric Clapton uses these strings, and if it's good enough for old "Slowhand", there good enough for me.

The best

By Demonmonkeee

from California

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

Since I started using Ernie ball strings, I've never considered using anything else. They Have a nice sound, and they are incredibly durable. I did a little experiment a while back, where i put 3 ernie ball strings (1st, 3rd, and 5th strings), and 3 non-ernie ball strings (2nd, 4th, and 6th strings), and left them like that for a few months with regular play of about an hour a day. Eventually the non ernie balls started falling apart as the winding wore down over the frets and began to fray. The Ernie balls were still perfect (I replaced them all anyway of course) and I havent questioned them since.

THESE STRINGS ARE HORRIBLE

By dl

from Undisclosed

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I bought them and when I get home I put them on my guitar. I tune them everything seems to be going fine. And on my first strum the last string snaps. I had to pay 8 bucks for them. Worst strings I've bought by far.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I've tried D'Addario strings and others before, but they just wore out within a few months. These, however, continue to impress me with their quality. I don't plan on switching string brands in the future.

      Amazing improvement in sound

      By Rob M

      from California

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings:

I have always replaced the strings on my Fender American Deluxe Strat with the factory recommended Fender Strings. I did a bit of research and selected these Slinky Strings for a try. What a difference... I should have ditched the Fender manual a long time ago. The guitar sounds noticeably better and the strings sustain forever compared to the Fender strings.

I've used every brand of string imaginable and I always come back to Ernie Ball Regular Slinkies. They provide the tone and feel that just seems right to me. Always go for the yellow package and you will never be led astray!
