I wanted to leave a review cuz I read the one that the guy said there is no difference between this model with the dual humbuckers and the single humbucker. I don't believe he's spent much time playing this model cuz this has every tone imaginable. I've played them all from Gibsons to fenders to Ibanez to schecters to warwicks and this hands down beats them all! What does it is the tones it produces. It's absolutely amazing. Running the bridge pickup you get classic Stngray sound but switch it up a position splitting the outside coils and it sounds like a Fender Jazz. Move it to the middle position and run both humbuckers together and it will Rattle your windows like an Ibanez with Bartolini pickups. Move it one one position and it splits the middle coils and it sounds just like a Gibson thunderbird. Then the final position runs the neck humbucker and it has a sweet tone! If you have the money don't even hesitate on buying this. It's hands down the best Bass I've ever played.

This bass was poorly set-up. I had to take it straight to my luther to work on the lower E
string fret noise and the playing height was near impossible to set for a clean feel. I should have returned it but I really like the tone quality and variable pitch balances it can produce. So I made the additional investment to make it a player. It's nowhere as solid as my 72 Fender J bass but I did buy it because I wanted a totally different sound, also the unfinished quality of the back of the neck can cause you to make a lot of manual playing adjustments with your left hand. I don't recommend the stingray HH to a novice , I'm also perplexed by Randy Jacksons glowing approval of this axe. I'm sure he wasn't playing one off the rack. This is my third guitar from Musician's Friend and my first bad experience.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass:

Sounds great, plays great. Only draw back is action. Soon as I got it I had to resetup. I've got action slammed as low as I can get it and I think I should be able to go lower with a bass with this kind of price tag. My other bass is an active schecter ultrabass. It's a cheaper bass and I can no doubt get it to play faster than the stingray. Quality obviously better on stingray but that's my only gripe.

      Great Bass

      By Taylor

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass:

I have had the Pace Car Blue one for over a year now. Within the first 3 months, I had to get the neck adjusted twice. The first time was at guitar center, the 2nd time I took it to a Luthier that has his Master Cert. I also had him do a professional set up. Since then, I have had no trouble with the bass and it sounds amazing! 4 Stars because I may gotten that one bad one that "slipped through the cracks". But it was an easy $70 fix.

      Amazing Bass

      By Tom Coviello

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass:

I bought the Music Man HH 4 bass last week. It is the most amazing bass I ever played. The Honeyburst finish is so beautiful I wanted to cry. The neck is comfortable and fast. The action is perfect. The tonal capabilities are unbelievable. A full bass sound that roars to highs that are perfect for slapping and popping. 3 band EQ for a multitude of sounds. The pick up selector switch adds so much tonal capabilities. Everything is well balanced from sound to feel. The HH 4 is definitely the way to go. Well worth the price. I wish I had bought this bass years ago.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass:

This bass is absolutely amazing, it sounds amazing and feels amazing. The neck of this bass blew me away, it's so smooth and feels unlike anything I have ever played before. I constantly get compliments on it from people. At first In didn't know if it was worth the price but after I finally got it and played it I realized it most definitely is. It's with every last penny. I don't think I will ever find a bass that will replace this one as my favourite. If you are considering buying this bass buy it right now.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass:

Great basses , top quility electronics, tuners are as solid as it gets, finish very well done, the necks are wide for some but the slickist out there the neck finish is the best in the buisness. Stingrays are muti sound regardless of the pickup configuration HH, H, HS they all work really well. They are heavy but worth the weight no pun intended!!!

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass:

This bass is great. The fret ends are perfectly filed. The neck needed a slight truss rod adjustment because the fretboard had a soap dish bow. It took one turn and now it's perfect. The bass sounds great and feels great. I can't find any faults beside the neck adjustment. If you don't like this this bass you might have got yourself a lemon and need to complain. My favorite bass next to a custom shop bass.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass:

I find this bass to be absolutely amazing! The known Musicman quality is definity here. I didn't think I would ever beat out my Rickenbacker for my favorite bass, but this one wins by a long shot.

Finish: The finsih on the instrument is flawless. I ordered the white, (which it seems Musiciansfriend really carries the color White Pearl) but is gorgous. So classy and well done. The matching head and great poly finsh really tie it all together.

Neck:Wow! Over the years I have grown very comformtable with necks with finish on the back, (Rickenbacker, Epiphone, Gibson, etc.) but the light oil finish on the back of the neck is just so smooth and just feels like home. The fret job seems to be well done and no flaws whatsoever. I love this neck.

Pickups: Two, count 'em TWO Musicman humbuckers! So only about $70 more than a standard Stingray, you get so many more possiblilies. I really don't see the reason in getting just the single pickup. With the 5 way swith you get the standard Stingray sound, a very nice P-Bass sound (postition 4) and a very dark, yet aggressive mudbucker type sound. (postition 5). Not to mention that you still have two more options and very powerful active electronics. I don't see why I didn'y buy one of these sooner.

The bass comes in a decent hardshell case that has the musicman name on the outside. It's intonation and setup were pretty spot on out of the box and just beggs to be played. I only have one complaint, my other basses aren't getting any playing time!

            Sting Ray HH is H - O - T!

            By Happy Strat Owner

            from Charleston, SC

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay HH 4-String Bass:

            Love Love Love!!
I've owned a Fender P, an Ibanez Sound Gear, an Ibanez BTB, a Ric 4003, a Warwick, a Sting Ray, and a few other basses over the years. The Sting Ray HH far exceeds all of them! Already a great sounding and versatile bass, the extra pick up in the HH makes this bass a MONSTER. RIght out of the box, the action is smooth, the strings are slinky and the bottom end growls like no other without sacrificing the bright highs. I'm a big proponent of Bartolini pick ups, but the dual HH pickups are soooo much better. My bass is a transparent gold model...and the picture does not do any justice to the beauty of the wood grain on the actual bass. I can't put it down.
