If you have the funds DO NOT HESITATE FURTHER!!!

    By JOSEPH REICHERT

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I have played bass for about 11 years now and have had my hands on quite a few name basses. I'm not really sure what took me so long to realize this bass's amazing potential but none the less I have found MY bass. The single humbucker might not seem appealing or versatile to some but do not judge that beast until you have actually had one in your hand to spend more than 2 seconds actually tweaking the 3 band active eq. I bought the simple black base model with one humbucker, that's all you really need. Slapping is no longer a challenge with that neck pickup out of the way and it is soo comfortable.

it sounds like a Music man

    By Lemur Maki

    from Oviedo Florida

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

Seeing nothing but rave reviews for this bass, I figured I would at least make mention of a few things anyone interested in buying this bass may find useful. I have owned, and played many, many basses over the years, and I will say that this bass in particular is a very good at it's job. The action out of the box is usually okay (that is saying quite a bit in Florida heat, and humidity). The finish is always very good. The hardware looks good, and overall, the bass plays fairly well. From time to time you do come across one that sounds, plays and looks better than the rest, but that could be said about almost every guitar ever made. so, the real issue with the Music Man Bass is the sound. Well, not an issue. More of a consideration. it tends to sound great for some things, but it can really ruin a mix in some styles of music. The low mids on this bass can be unruly. The sound is very modern, and punchy. Once again, not a bad thing, but with only one pickup, and a fairly "meh" EQ, you will find tonal versatility is something this beast of a bass lacks. It has a sort of Maverick "my way, or the highway" feel in it's sound. You will love this bass if you want the sound it makes, as it has plenty of that sound. however, if you are looking for something with more of range, or simply are looking for a single bass rig, you may find that this basses range is a tad to myopic for your needs.

    Perfect

    By Cameron Simpson

    from Michigan

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

This is the only bass I've seen that looks good in black with maple. The neck is so smooth and fast! You'd have to play it to know what I mean, I play faster on the Sting Ray then I do my Fender Jazz, I don't get it. This bass is absolutely fantastic, worth the price. Its sounds especially good through a GK half stack. The humbucker is like between the bridge position and the sweet spot so its tone is superb, and the EQ can make it more bassy if anyone has a problem with the bass being too trebly. But I have no complaints.

    Must have!

    By Shmegenke

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

Any serious player needs one of these in his arsenal alongside his P-Bass and Jazz Bass. Absolutely exceptional for funk. Great for straight-up rock tone as well. I just love that milky-yet-at-the-same-time-punchy kinda tone. I've had mine for over 10 years and I'm still blown away by it!

    Music Man Stingray

    By Jonathan D.

    from Wilsonville, Or

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I have played bass for 2 1/2 years. I have a Fender Jazz, which I love, but I saved up money to get a bass, that would get that real nice slap tone, for Red Hot Chili Peppers stuff. I got the all black with a maple neck, and it's tone is amazing. You can boost up the bass and mid, to get a great hard rock tone, and boost up the treble, to get crazy funk slap. I like the feel of the Rosewood neck, but I like the tone of the Maple more. The Rosewood has a more lower, smooth sound, and the Maple has a bright sound. Tone wise, I give the bas s a 5/5. For Playability I give the bass a 4/5. The Jazz bass has a nicer feeling, and is easier to play, but the Stingray's neck is still great. For reliability, the bass totally deserves 5/5. I can play any style on this bass. I highly recommend!

    GROWLS!!!

    By Jon

    from 11423

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I just bought this great bass 2 weeks ago and when I played a string it just growls like a monster! Everything is good, its a lil bit heavy but I got used to it in a couple of days. This bass is versatile in all genre but I think it is really good for funk/rock which expels more punch/growl. The only thing I am still mad about is that my bass doesn't have a marking that it is made in usa and I already contacted the EBMM company and they think that they forgot to put the mark. Also the hardshell case is too big coz it doesn't fit in the compartment of my car. Other than that BUY this bass, it will be the only bass you will ever need forever.

    Great Purchase!

    By Casey

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I had been playing on a Warwick fretless for years but my new project required a much heavier tone. In my opinion, the MusicMan was the only option. Its tone is unsurpassed. Fretboard is is very smooth and the preamp makes this bass quite versatile. Would recommend highly.

    This is the one!

    By G

    from Trenton,NJ

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I walked into guitar center expecting to walk out with a Fender Jazz Bass and played it too, but after taking some advice from a store salesman I tried out this beast and I instantly changed my mind. This bass just felt better and had more range with tones than the Fender Jazz. The neck is perfect and fast too, also the finish on the StingRay was great looking and unique compared to all the Fenders in the store. I am more than happy with the choice I made and I think you will be too if you go with a StingRay.
