Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH Bass:

This is my first Ebmm bass and i am totally blown away. The quality of this bass is outstanding, it plays so easy and beautifully. This bass came right out of the box tuned and ready to play with no adjustments. The tones on this sterling hh are incredible, and can adjusted to whatever tone you need for any style of music. A must bass to have. You will not go wrong with this bass

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH Bass:

This is my go-to bass. I can play this bass at any gig that I do and feel extremely comfortable all night long playing any genre of music. The sound is amazing regardless of the amp that I am using and this dude plays like butter - every time. Once we played a snowmobile festival (our guitar player was wearing shooting gloves to play) and my Sterling didn't complain a bit! Inside, outside, rock, funk, alternative or jazz -doesn't matter - when I need a bass that I can play, I take my Sterling. This is the best bang for the buck bass out there, hands down!

        Sweet Bass

        By Totalbass

        from Sandpoint Idaho

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH Bass:

I've had this bass for a few months now gigging regularly. I'm glad I opted for the Sterling as this axe is still heavier than my Yamaha or my Carvin. I really love this thing-havent played anything else since I've had it! One thing that took me by surprise was the fact that my maple board came with no more than maybe a tung oil finish. It feels great, but doesn't take long to get really grungy. The build quality on this is fantastic only needing minor setup adjustments. The electronics are awesome but wish there was a bypass switch to have the option to go passive-think I might add one. Overall, I highly recommend this bass and feel that I got my moneys worth!

The Finest bass I have ever owned!

        By Douglas Kuster

        from Macomb, Illinois

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH Bass:

I recently picked up a Sterling 5 used, a 2009 model in Pacific Blueburst /rosewood fingerboard. This is one amazing bass, the tone and playability are unmatched. I have played bass professionally for 33 years and this is my last instrument, as personally I don't think I could ever find anything better. Going from finger style to slap is amazing as there is not need to increase volume levels or adjust EQ settings. This bass is so responsive, and does take a little getting used to because of the overall power and punch of the low end, as this bass can really throw the thunder on the low B and E. Over the years I have played Fenders, Peaveys, Carvins, Cort Artisans, and even at one time a Kubicki X-factor, a superior progressive bass of extremely high quality, but all of these basses pale in comparison to this bass. As I said before this is my last bass. Try one, and see why so many bass players are proud to be a part of the MM (Musicman) family. My only regret is why it took me so long to ever try one, many years of amazing tone and enjoyment missed out on.

        Perfect bass for gigs

        By PinoyRakista

        from Germantown, MD

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH Bass:

I previously owned a Musicman Stingray 4 string. I was desperate in need of a 5 string bass and Guitar Center worked out a nice trade for me. I traded plus some cash and got a 5 string Sterling. It is really nice nice of GC to work with struggling musicians like me. Although, sometimes I miss my stingray becasue musicman sterling or stingrays are both keepers. The only issue I have with this sterling bass is that it is very sensitive to temperature changes. I get occassional fret buzz when season changes. Then I just do adjustments and it is perfect again. I use my other basses for practice, but my sterling is ALWAYS used for gigs. There's something about Musicman tone that it sounds so right on stage. The tone cuts through the whole band. The tone is very definitive when you play along with a band. It also has its own character. You always know if a bassist is using a musicman becasue the tone is very identifiable and unique. I also had the chance to contact musicman customer support. they are friendly and helpful. Good job Musicman manufacturing and support. Excellent boutique bass. Right price.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH Bass:

EB Musicman is one of the best manufacturers for attention to detail. This is the second bass for me from them and both are immaculate in workmanship.Playability is extremely comfortable on this model with a clear fundamental tone. The 4th pickup position on the HS model is my favorite.Clearly a no brainer for a quality made and playing instrument.

        Really nice bass

        By Jon McCormick

        from Boise, ID

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH Bass:

Ordered new Sterling 5 HH after watching Youtube reviews of this bass. When it arrived action was very high and the truss rod would not budge. Called Ernie Ball, one of their techs talked me through putting pressure on the neck to loosen the rod. Still had string buzz which was due to a high fret. After having fretboard leveled I have to say this is one of the best basses I have ever owned. Super fast neck, lightweight, all kinds of different sounds available and really cuts through the mix with my band. This bass replaces some boutique basses I have owned that were much more expensive, this would blow them out of the water now that bugs are worked out. Nice job Musicman!! On a side note, before I corrected the truss rod thing Guitar Center offered to quicly replace the bass if I could not get it to work. Nice customer service Thanks

This has got to be the best designed basses ever made. I have been playing for 22 years and have yet to play anything this amazing. The pickups are great with a different tones in each position better than the last. The neck is ultra fast and very vesitile. I would highly recommend this bass to all who are looking to step up to the next level. Rock On!!
