Overview

The JPXI-6 is the newest collaborative effort between John Petrucci and the Music Man R&D team. The JPXI features a combination of top appointments from JPX and BFR Petrucci signature instruments. Most notably, the JPXI neck has been streamlined to a symmetric, extra slim profile featuring a flatter 20" radius, medium jumbo stainless steel frets with a finished mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard. This, combined with the non-chambered body, mahogany Tone Block and maple top, has become the ultimate rock machine!

The controls are similar to that of the JP BFR line, with 2 three way toggles perfectly wired for the Custom Dimarzio LiquiFire and Crunch Lab humbuckers, as well as the Piezo bridge pickup. The JPXI-6 is adorned with chrome hardware, Mother of Pearl inlays and a new Onyx finish. Includes case.

Optimistically Cautious Pt. 2

By Shandon Willey

from New Jersey

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci JPXI-6 Electric Guitar:

So I got this one in spring of 2011, as soon as it came out, It's Jan 2013 now. This guitar has been kept in a clean room out of the way of everything else going on in my house where the temp never changes. Like the JPX, very sensitive to humidity still and I had to take it back to GC to utilize that 3yr GC protection plan. The sealer or whatever clear substance that covers the fret markers lost its "stick" and had some unsightly discoloration from where air bubbles appeared. Imagine huge neon brown spots up the neck. It's quite noticeable too. Other than the poor cosmetic craftsmanship, still a great playing guitar.

One guitar?

By KARL EISENHART

from Alburtis, PA

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci JPXI-6 Electric Guitar:

I'll admit it. I have a problem. I've got 31 guitars. 25 electrics. The JPXI-6 has made all of them practically expendable. I knew I'd like it based on how much I liked my "regular" Petrucci model that I bought seven years ago, but I wasn't prepared to like it this much. The guts of a Les Paul, the clarity of a strat, balance and playability that put a PRS to shame, better sounding piezo system than my Fishman Power Bridge, and the non-locking trem stays in tune as well or better than my Ibanez S540. I'm seriously considering unloading a few of my other guitars so I can pick up a second JPXI. I'm truly not a huge fan of John Petrucci (hell of a player, but I am more of a Steve Morse/Alex Lifeson disciple) but that man can design one hell of a guitar. Go get one.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci JPXI-6 Electric Guitar:

This is an amazing guitar and for the price you can't beat it.The stainless steel frets are a great addition (very slick and easy to move around). The pickups are liquid fir and crunch lab are the best combination i have ever played very balanced and compliment each other very well. The onyx finish is awesome. The neck is very easy to play compared to the standard model which i also own. This guitar blows my fender deluxe, gibson studio ibanez rg out of the water hand down.

Amazing Guitar

By Juila Jacobs

from Bangor, ME

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci JPXI-6 Electric Guitar:

This guitar plays like a dream. The action is so low that the set of 10's feels like 9's. Stays in tune well and changing strings is a breeze. The magnetic and piezo pickup sound great for any style of music. The trem system works just like a locking nut would. Buy this guitar!!!
