Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Cutlass Trem Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I've always loved the sound of single coil pickups and the overall tone of the Fender Stratocaster. Unfortunately, it never was a comfortable playing instrument and the neck is cumbersome. The bridge pickup always seemed shallow when overdrive was applied. The new Music Man Cutlass is an awesome instrument. The neck is so comfortable and quick. The tone generated by this guitar is amazing and the single coil pickups are a step above the Fender versions. The fit and finish are superb and the weight and balance of the guitar are perfect. The quiet circuitry cuts out the hum and noise but does not affect the sustain of the guitar. I can't say enough about the overall craftsmanship and beauty of this guitar. If you're a Strat player do yourself a favor and play this guitar.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Cutlass Trem Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

It has great tone, feels nicely built, easy to play, and has the added perk of looking beautiful. Unfortunately, the one I received had a lot of fret buzz. Even after having a professional setup the fret buzz persisted. Because I am still uncertain whether or not this was a build issue or a setup issue (although with two professional setups I find it unlikely to be a setup issue), I am giving it four stars because the guitar did deliver in every other department as I anticipated. All said, given the price tag I could not overlook the buzzing issues I was having. I personally felt if I kept the guitar I may regret it sometime down the road, so I ended up using the return policy to purchase another guitar (a Les Paul). Posting about my short experience with the guitar to give anyone curious about purchasing it some information.

A little side note: I also play bass. Having thoroughly enjoyed playing the Music Man Stingray 4 bass, I am still a fan of Music Man and believe they are a quality company. In the future, I may give another guitar a whirl if I'm feeling it.
