Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:

I have had many basses over the 30 plus years I have been playing. This one is the best I've ever owned. Made in the USA, the quality is top of the line. I play this in jam situations, I record with it, and play small venues, (church included), The tone available to me on the fly is a wide range from full on Music Man tone to full heavy bass. The neck is just the right width for a 5 string. I have small hands and I play this thing with ease. I have owned:Rickenbacker 4001,Fender P, G&L L-2000,Warwick Corvette 5, and a classic 4 string Music Man from the late 70's. Bought them all new. The only one I ever missed was the Music Man. This one replaces it and surpasses it. This bass is proudly displayed in my living room on a string swing.....

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:

I use this bass in a church worship setting. The wide range of tones available to me during the performance is one of this bass' best features. The classic Music Man tone is there, plus more. I owned a 4 string Stingray back in the 70's. This bass has the look and feel of those original basses Music Man put out. There is something special about owning a Bass made in the USA. The quality is top notch. This bass really is worth every cent..G/C had the best price on this Bass...worth your time to check one out

      This is it

      By Jaime Gomez

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass is just simply amazing. Think twice before you pick this bass up because once you start playing it, you will not want to put it down. I compared this bass to Fender Jazz basses, other EBMM stingrays, single and dual humbucker, Fender Urge Bass (discounted) and EBMM Sabre but this Classic Stingray took the cake by far in sound and playability IMO. The treble and Bass EQ is very responsive, and the coral red is just gorgeous IMO although you really can't go wrong with any color. Also, the rosewood neck felt better than any other neck I played and maple was my favorite before hand. If you are looking for a quality 5 string bass, this bass will meet or surpass your expectations.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:

Great build quality, easy to tweak setup/action with the easy truss rod adjustment feature. Sweet birdseye maple neck and board. Finish quality A++. 2 band EQ takes some getting used to however. If you buy one take the time to learn how to use it. Once you get the hang of it, it affords a terrific opportunity to work out some very cool tones. I little goes a long way so the right adjustment can give you sweet tones a slight over/under adjustment can turn the tone to caca (I couldn't use the word I originally submitted). Pricey, but the quality is commensurate with the value.
This is the 14th bass in my present collection, everything is Q1, no beginner models. This one is right up there with the best of them.
+ Great price and service from MF.

        my most prized possession...

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:

If you can afford it- get it! if you can get it used- get it! Save if you have to- you won't second guess this investment.
this bass is amazing! I tested one out at guitar center and I fell in love with the neck and tone. The classic stingray tone is in here and more- serious pressence! A little heavey but the tone and feel are the rewards. Of course this instrument is visually stunning- I have the powder blue with rosewood/birdseye maple neck- luxurious! This is a great complimnet/contrast to my roadworn jazz bass.
Oozes quality- like butter! Serious attention to detail and playability- perfect setup out of the box.
You get what you pay for- this is an investment that will keep rewarding you and will retain most of its value if not exceed it once its no longer in production. This bass will last a lifetime!

        My new Main Bass

        By JILL SHACKLEFORD

        from Navarre, FL

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:

I have been playing bass for 18 years now. I own a Warwick 5, an Ibanez Sound Gear 5, two Dean 5's, and an Ovation 4 (Solid body from the 80's). My new Music Man beats the brakes off of all of them, hands down. After playing the Warwick for the last year or so, I thought I would never play anything else. My wife bought me this Music Man as a surprise and I am blown away by it. I feel like I stepped out of a Corvette and into a Ferrari. This is the first five string that I have played that articulates every note on the B string. Don't be put off by the 2 band EQ. It is plenty for any style. My bass has the birds-eye maple neck with the maple fretboard. Not only does it look amazing, the feel and sound are beyond reproach. It took a little while to get acquainted to the 21 fret neck as opposed to the 24 fret neck of the corvette but, the tone/sound of this instrument are certainly worth the effort. I played my first show with it in Panama City Beach last weekend and afterwards, my guitar player and drummer both came up to me and said, "Dude, that thing sounds amazing! Don't ever play anything else again." The guitar player has been in the game for 30 years and the drummer about 25. That really says something to me. You can not go wrong with this bass no matter what style of music you play.

        Perfect pocket and recording bass

        By Killbert

        from Boston

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:

As a pro I count on a bass to sound great in a mix and track well. This bass delivers in style and grace. Apart from being very beautiful and comfortable, these instruments excel at sitting in with a kick drums and having an even balance between strings. The foam mutes, while hard to adjust, are a wonderful feature that really bring old school life to your sound, and as someone who prefers roundwounds for pick and slap work, allow me to get flatwound tone without changing basses. Construction is like a tank and it truly is beautiful. The necks on these things are literally stunning.I play solo bass pieces on the side from the meat and potatoes of pro life, and this bass is honestly best suited for ensemble playing, and not solo work. But to be honest, stingrays have always truly been ensemble instruments. For a 2 band eq it does have a lot of presence and tone shaping. My favorite is when the treble is all the way down and you hear what in my opinion could be the warmest, fullest and punchiest bass tone around.

        Massive tone.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:

I recently purchased the Mint Green/Maple fretboard version of this bass. I was blown away when I played this in the store. The first thing I noticed was the big but tight low-end and razor-edge high-end. This bass has a two band EQ which is more than enough to dial in a variety of tones. However, this bass really feels/sounds like it's been made to rock. The quality of the build is outstanding. This bass is also fairly heavy but all that weight, along with the string through bridge really contribute to the huge, in your face tone of this instrument. The set-up/sting choice that comes with this bass is average but did need some adjusting to feel just right (but what instrument doesn't?). If you can afford this instrument, or even if you can't (it is rather expensive) do yourself a favor and at least play one ASAP. You won't regret it.
