If you are looking for The classic vintage sound, this is your bass.

By Mike

from Nutyey NJ.

I won't put down any other bass company,I do own other basses I'm a bass guitar custom build endorser my self, but for many years I start to pay attention to many Music man bass players,I have done my research and what some bassist said about the Sting Ray is a one way ride Pony they are dead wrong, even my Luthier has lot's of respect for the Music Man Company,I when to Paramus Guitar Center to buy a pedal and I saw Bob lamb a sales man that knows about me and the Music Man basses he said to me ,If you want to get it this month is your chance and there is not much time left over I took my chances and I went last day I bought it Sting Ray Classic I just can't be more happy that I made that move,a bass with a lot of deep bass tone.plenty of highs,is only a two band EQ but believe me there is a lot of different tones specially is you know how to place your fingers in different places around the pickup and bridge, the neck is excellent, and comes with a awesome case Thank you Robert Lamb.

Amazing Instrument

By chris ren

from Pittsford, NY

This is an amazing bass. It has perfect tone, strings, and feels great. I played the Music Man sterling bass and it was good, but this was amazing. I just bought it yesterday and I've been playing ever since. This bass is definitely worth the price it is good looking, sounds great, and feels great

UNREAL!

By Jonathan Thebom

from Los Angeles

What can you say? It's amazing. My fist Music Man product and I am seriously happy with it. My friend who works at GC kept recommending this bass to me while I was in the market for one. It took a little getting use to the set up being use to a Fender Jazz and an Ibanez for 10 years. It's a little beefier, however more comfortable and it only takes a few weeks to get use to the pick up set up. But the TONE... oh man, so good, it's just classic. I don't know how they do it but somehow they get these things to sound just fantastic! Any hoo - if you are looking for a new bass and are in any way considering one, get into GC and try one out, at first it may seem different but trust me, you will love it!!! Price is a bit much, but hey, American Made! You really can't go wrong. Unfortunately my Fender is collecting dust now. This is the type of instrument you will keep for the rest of your life. I don't even think I will consider another bass for the next 10 years. Thanks Ernie Ball!!!

wow...

By Beau Diehl

from TX

This is the last bass I will buy Period. Fantastic tone, smooth playing, and quality quality quality. I got the ivory with white pickguard/pickup and maple neck, first night I played it at the show I had about 7 people asking about it. Price is expensive but I got a heck of a deal with the labor day sale. After playing this bass though I would have paid full price if I had to. Nothing else to say, best bass I have ever played. BUY IT

My first Musicman and I couldn't be happier

By Rainman

from River vale, NJ

I own many basses so i cetainly was not looking for another one especially at this price range but it just caught my eye it was calling me. I always heard how much people rave about the musicman but i was alway a fender guy and occassionaly i play my Gibson EBO. So i plugged in and couldn't believe the tone and how smooth and fast the neck was, even the setup was good for, so i put down in it case and bought it on the spot. When i came home plugged it into my mark bass 2x10 cab and i loved it even more. I think she will be for sure be my numero uno. I highly recommend you go to your local guitar center and give it test drive.

Best Bass Under 2 Grand on the Market

By Mike

from Atlantic City NJ

I bought one of these new Classic Series Stingrays yesterday after about 45 minutes of trying one in the store. They have the perfect neck, sound and feel. The 7.5 radius, smaller frets, high gloss flame maple neck is out of this world. It glides better than anything Ive played which ranges from Fender American Std to Fender CST Shops, to 3,500 Warwicks and more. The passive humbucker with the active 2 band eq is awesome. Has a huge round, fat in your face deep tone that we all dream of. They are a bit on the heavy side but that doesnt bother me one bit, because the tone is worth it. Anyone looking for a pure, raw down right old school tone look no further.

excellent

By cliffrulez77

from virginia beach , virginia

i played this when i was at guitar center the other day. i was just going through basses and i thought this was a sterling music man. i plugged this in to a markbass 1X15 and POW! in my face. this thing has the most awesome slap tone ive ever heard. it has deep lows punchy mids and shiny highs. its even better than the 25th anniversary music man that has 8 knobs on it AND a tone switch. simplistic and easy to play and fantastic sound, easily blows away every other bass.

Beautiful

By jflrsvt

from Connecticut

I tried this bass out today for a good forty-five minutes today at a local Guitar Center and I have to say I've fallen in love with this bass. I brought my Fender MIM deluxe jazz bass in for repair and when I tried this baby out, it blew the Fender right out of the water. It has killer tone, sustain, boom, and punch. The maple neck feels and looks beautiful as well as the body. I even like this more than the 3-band eq that the non-classic models have. This is THE best Music Man Stingray released since the originals back in the day

Best Musicman Bass

By Kent

from Lakeview, OR

I did not like the Musicman basses I tried before I found this! It must be "new" and is described as the classic. It has a beautiful high gloss polished aged maple neck I love. The other Musicman basses I tried were kind of unfinished and felt slow. This bass resounds deep and beefy! Love the looks and feel. Has simplified controls and one humbecker pup which is more than enough output to rattle the windoows! Check out this new version Musicman Ernie Ball Bass before you buy anything else! I bought it and I looked for weeks and played just about everything else in this price range.
