Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

Thick, well-defined tone, with a killer B-string. Smoother than a Sting Ray. 4-band EQ provides great flexibility. Comfortable neck and string spacing. Excellent craftsmanship. A great all-around bass.

      Sweetness Personified!!

      By CLIFFORD WOODWARD

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

This Bass is just sweet, in every aspect. The body styling just speaks positively to quirkiness, spunk, and in your face funk. The Humbucker pickups paired w/the 4 band EQ is exceptional. This dynamic duo will easily dial in what ever tone most skilled bass players will be looking for. I have been playing bass in excess of 40 years. I've owned a 73 Telecaster Bass, Inbanez SR505, & BTB 776PB. I had never had an interest in Musicman Basses, they just reminded me of Fender style basses. No WOW styling factor. That is until I layed eyes on the Bongo. Having now purchased one, this week, in Tangerine w/Black Pearl Pick Guard, I honetsly believe that I have purchased the last, best bass guitar of my life. I really do. If you can afford it...it is money well spent. Look at it as a tone and style investment. ;)

      Outstanding!!!!

      By Barry Conaway

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

I've been a Warwick player for years. But, I picked up this bass a couple days ago and truly have never experienced the quality and performance it gives. The tonal range is amazing. The high notes on upper strings are crystal clear and the low end still holds solid definition. The 4 band eq conforms to any style of playing, whether it be hard rock, like myself, or jazz/funk. The 18 volts of power definitely adds to the monstrousity of this gorgeous bass. Besides the mechanical features, this bass is incredibly light. My Warwicks are all tanks compared to the Bongo. It weighs in just under 10 lbs. The very sleek and curvy body gives an impressive look that catches the eye as well. In under 20 minutes of playing the Bongo, and comparing it to the Music Man Sterling and Stingray, I was instantly sold that the Bongo was exactly the bass I was looking for. There is no other bass like the Bongo, and I am now fully addicted to its spectacular tone/controls and catchy looks. Definitely try out this bass.

      Excellent bass the TRULY delivers!

      By StealthPlayer

      from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

I own the 6 string version of this bass in all black Stealth with the ebony fingerboard. First of all, I was never into Music Man basses and was never into their sound. However, I saw the Stealth version and it immediately intrigued me. The design of the bass is a take-it or leave-it with most people. I personally like the design more than what I dislike it. Second, I decided to get the bass and from the moment I opened the case I was blown away! The craftsmanship, finish, playability, weight, and overall feel are IMMACULATE! I mean, it just rocks! Third, the sound is HUGE! This thing is loud! I have had no need to turn the volume knob past 2! The 4-band EQ is genius and a God-send! The fretboard is thin and the best I have ever played for a six string! Fourth, at first the only thing that dissapointed me was the slap sound. I just couldn't really find it when I played it through a headphone amp. I am a tone snob. HOWEVER, I just played this bass at church through my Ibanez Promethean rig running 500 watts and I was hooked! This thing really comes alive with a good rig and the slap sound was incredibly modern and it was one of the sounds I was looking for. I guess this bass really comes alive and shows all its bells and whistles when played live or through a good studio. You will not be dissapointed. This thing is worth its weight in gold and now I'm a believer!

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

I have played many bass guitars in my days. I bought one of these early this year, And it is by far the most amazing bass i've ever played. The sound is incredibly clean, the neck is so smooth you wouldn't believe it, and the tone controls have a very wide range. This is the best bass you will ever play.

      Incredible weapon

      By Juan Carlos

      from Buenos Aires, Argentina

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

I decided to bought it after a short test, but when I had the opportunity to play it along with my band I realize that was far better than I expected. The two humbuckers with individual treble/bass control plus the balance control allows a wide variety of tone control to satisfy any style you can play. The design by the BMW design team gives this instrument a very special look and is very comfotable and ergonomic to play for hours. Incerdible weapon!

      I'm in love

      By ATLmusicMAN

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

The first time I played this at my nearest GC location, I immediately fell in love with it. As tight as it looks, it sounds even better. The tonal range and possibilities are limitless with all the adjustable tone knobs that come standard on this beast! The pre-set action is low, yet doesn't scrub the pickups or the neck with regular finger play. It is very responsive to slapping and plucking as well, I found no dead spots on any part of the neck on this 5 string which is unbelievable! Well worth the money!
