Best guitar I've played

By Folly

from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport HH Electric Guitar:

I recommend you to try this guitar before buying any other guitar. I went to chicago guitar center to buy a Fender Custom Shop. I've tried 4 and found a 60's NOS the great one. So, I saw a MM super axis with tremolo and decided to try it. The neck is amazing, the action is excelent and the sound was incredible! I like fenders (I own one strato and one tele 52) but this axis will become my first guitar.

Awesome Axis

By Fishbone

from LaGrange , Georgia

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport HH Electric Guitar:

Well, I had to get rid of the Fenders. They were collecting too much dust. My new Axis S.S. is now the only guitar I own. It's like having two guitars in one. I can now play everything from twangy country to Metallica with the same guitar! The birdseye maple neck is unbelievable. I've owned Fenders, Gibsons and a PRS and this Axis plays better than any of them. Also, I like the easy to string vintage tremolo and locking Schaller pearl tuners. If any guitar ever deserved a 5 star rating, this is it.

Takes a bit of getting used to, but then...

By Rob in Fresno

from Fresno, Ca

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport HH Electric Guitar:

Picked this up at GC Fresno a couple months back. Somehow never noticed when I was trying it out that the body was small (kind of like a 3/4 size body, but it's a full guitar). I sit down a lot when I play, and it did take some time to get used to the feel since I have played Gibsons my whole life, which always fit comfortably on your leg. Once that was out of the way, this guitar is basically amazing in most ways. The neck is as fast as any I have ever played and it is incredibly smooth. The playability is excellent. The other major component is the pickup switching capability is probably the best I have played. They are extremely diverse, with the single coil positions being especially nice. You can pull a ton of sounds out of this gutar. The build quality and the finish are both beautiful. And I just love the "Made in San Luis Obispo, California" stamped on the back. In short, this is a high quality instrument that I feel rivals PRS in overall features at less of an impact on your wallet (still not cheap, but it should last forever). Basically a very nice cross between a Gibson (say SG, not Les Paul) and a Fender Telecaster.

Great Guitar

By Geoff

from Chicago,IL

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport HH Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. Absolutely amazing. I would say that one of the problems I have had with it is that I break strings on it. I play kind of hard, so it can take a beating. I like playing metal and its fun to shredd on. It is a very versitile guitar. You can get a twangy telecaster sound, fender strat sound, or a heavier sound from a Gibson. Worth the price.

Wow!!!!!

By Strat Matt

from Iowa

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport HH Electric Guitar:

This is one great playing, looking, and sounding guitar. I can't put it down. I always considered myself a strat guy that needed the Gibson bridge pup sound at times, well I will be looking no further. This guitar delivers in spades. The neck pup is very sweet sounding and does a Fender type thing very well, the bridge pup does the Gibson thing very well, and the in between coil split settings are very interesting with varying degrees of gain and volume knob adjustments. I have it all now!!

Great Guitar

By Tom Rice

from Cleveland OH

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport HH Electric Guitar:

I bought one of these 8 months or so ago. I have a hard time putting it down after rehearsal. It has that EVH look without the trem. I have big hands so it has taken a little time getting used to the closer frets on the board, but the sound can't be beat. The neck feels like I have been playing it for years, that broken in feeling. I have had many guitars over the years, I have kept a select few, this ones a keeper!

Miserable set up

By Mike

from Meadow Vista, CA

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport HH Electric Guitar:

I would think that buying a guitar of this "quality" and price would have dictated being setup and ready to play out of the box. I have been playing a 90 Strat for about 15 years and wanted to buy something with a smoother maple neck. This model is NOT available in the GC store so you are buying on the hope it is set up correctly. It is not. Both the b and e strings are laying right on the first fret and buzz miserably. I had to leave town on an extended trip right after I had purchased it so did not get a chance to put any time in to it until the 30 days (which by the way is ship date, so basically -7 days)or I would have returned it. Now I have to go to the extra expense of taking in to a shop that can set it up correctly

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man Axis SuperSport HH Electric Guitar:

It's just a sweet guitar. Nothing wrong or in need of replacement. The one bad thing I can think of is that it's top could be a bit more contoured so as not to dig into my right forearm.
