great slap tone

I had been unsatisfied with the weak slapping dynamics of the cheap strings I used. I tried every tone and action setting i had. I had always wanted to try these, so I did, lowered the action as low as It would go and threw them on. easiest stringing job ever, btw, they bent and didn't resist as some do. they barely had to stretch, there is NO fret buzz and the slapping comes through thick and funky. I have tried the cheap strings, flatwound, etc. and these are the most playable and toneful I have tried yet. add me onto that list of slinky players for good.

Incomparable

The Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys are hands-down the best bass strings on the market. I would use no other; I come back to these every time. They can take an old or cheap bass and make it sound and feel so much better. The Hybrids are just the right gauge: not too thin, not too thick. I have played strings of lighter and heavier gauges, and was not satisfied. The first time I tried these, they were the perfect fit. These Slinkys have a long lifespan! I am on stage weekly, and play daily. A set of these last me over a month. They break in easily and quickly as well. I do notice they give off a particularly appealing sheen. The sound they give is just perfect. A bright tone can be found with these strings, particularly early in their lifespan. As they age, they become more mellow. Brand new though, they give off a nice deep tone that most bassists look for. Overall, I would highly recommend the Ernie Ball Hybrids to every bassist of any genre!

Great All-Around String

I picked up a pack of these jewls today and I'm never going back to the old strings I used to play with. Previously, I used Power Slinkies, but I found that they have a very muddy sound due to their thickness. I love the bright, punchy, and satisfying sound that comes out of these babies. I highly reccomend these from one musician to another. 5/5 from me.

Best gauge and brand...

Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkies are the best bass strings out there. The Hybrid gauge is just perfect and the strings give my Ibanez bass a very bright and poppy sound. The Hybrid gauge is amazing because it is in between the other lower and higher gauges and is great for playing many different varieties of music. Also, these strings are affordable compared to others. If you're looking for some new strings, experiment with these like I did. If you like them enough you'll never go back to any other brand.

Best Strings Period

These strings are the best I've ever used. Ernie Ball strings by far are the greatest that you can buy if you're into any type of music. If you buy these, you know you are buying a quality product. I wouldn't put any other strings on my basses.
