as a bassist I need a set of strings I can rely on when I hit the stage. I have to KNOW that whenever I hit the stage those strings aren't gonna give out on me, and produce quality sound time and time again. Ernie Ball Brand Bass Strings are the best, no matter what gauge you get, you're getting the best of the best, I usually don't have to consider changing them for almost up to a year. Regular slinky is my brand of choice, and I love em to death, great choice for active players that want versatility without strain or strings that are TOO small a gauge.

  • Best Strings

As reviewed by Jeff on 4/4/2011

I've not only used the regular slinkys, but the hybrid ones and the ones in the pink package (the name escapes me). Now these strings, in my opinion, are the best ones out there for guitar and bass. Reasons being that for starters, they last forever, i could keep mine on for a whole year if i wanted, but i like to change it up. These strings produce a great sound, and compared to almost all of the the GHS strings i've tried on my Jazz bass (and are supposedly better) they dont last nearly as long and dont sound nearly as good. I play ALOT, practice and do alot of gigging, and i couldnt be more happier, satisfied, and assured that these strings will get me through everything i put them through, which is alot. They're good for any genre, from jazz to thrash metal, fingerstyle to playing with a pick, and are RELIABLE ( i cannot stress this enough) And even better, they're so cheap! The only thing i can recommend is that you try all the different packs until you find the ones that suit you. i prefer hybrids, and thats after trying them all out. So go get a pack of these and try them, you wont be dissapointed. and if you're a beginner, never compare new strings to the factory ones you get out of the box! the factory ones may feel and sound good, but they are really of poor quality.
