  • EB Flats...a good sound

    I prefer using flats on my bass. I've tried a few other brands but I like the EB's the best so far. I have a Fender Standard Jazz and a Geddy Lee Jazz, both with EB flats on them. The EB's have a nice, smooth feel to them cutting out any finger noise that may be present with roundwounds. The tone is great. Some of the other flats I've tried had a dull, flat sound. I know flats shouldn't be as bright as rounds but I do like to have some punch. The 2804's have a flatwound sound but there is some brightness to them too. I play different style of music, country, southern rock, classic rock, alt rock and these flats sound good for all styles. I would recommend the EB 2804 to anyone who likes to use flats or may be thinking of trying flats.
