  • Awesome, but we need more different gauges.

    I got two sets of this strings for my 5-string basses. One is set on standard tuning (BEADG) or sometimes on drop A (AEADG), and my second 5-string is set on drop A# (A#,F,A#,D#,G#) for my current band. They are loud like EB claims, they are smooth to the touch, and they have a sharp attack. I wish they had more options on gauges, but it is what it is at the moment. I will keep getting this strings because I like the tone, feel, and durability of them. They have gone through two sweaty rehearsals. and they still sound fresh.

    I think the clarity of each string is excellent in standard tuning and drop d. But when I try to tune lower it sounds like the strings are too close to the frets and I couldn't get over that buzzing sound. I tried raising the strings and it still didn't seem to help. So overall I think they sound pretty good and if you know how to correctly intonate your bass you might be able to play these strings at lower tuning.

  • Love-Hate

    The best sound I have ever had or found in a string! But after 1 show and 2 practices. The D string broke when I was tuning 1/2 step down! Only had them on for 2 weeks. I my try another set just to see if it was a one time bad deal.
