Ernie Ball 2154 Coated Slinky Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings (104824768)
Availability:

Finally, a coated set that offers plain strings the same deserving protection as wound strings!

Ernie Ball Slinky Acoustic Guitar Strings, feature patented coated Titanium RPS Technology that resists rust and grime for bright and powerful tone time after time.

Ernie Ball's titanium coated Slinky Acoustic strings are stronger and longer-lasting than traditional strings--either coated and uncoated strings. That's thanks in part to an exclusive protective coating on both the wrap wire and the plain strings as well as a patented winding of titanium wire around the lock twist of the ball end. Staying true to Ernie Ball's heritage of superb craftsmanship and sound quality, Slinky Acoustic Guitar Strings are made with the finest and freshest raw materials, resulting in a crisp ringing sound with pleasing overtones.

Enhancing the inherent string quality and freshness is Ernie Ball's new string packaging--the company's first new string packaging concept in more than 45 years. Produced and now hermetically sealed into their packages at Ernie Ball's desert headquarters in Coachella, CA, Slinky Acoustic strings are exposed to minimal moisture and humidity from factory to retailer--insuring that all Ernie Ball strings are as fresh upon opening as they were the day they were made.

  • Strings Matters...

As reviewed by Jongards on 8/6/2008

I've always been an Elixir user for many years but this time I tried the new Ernie Ball 2154 Coated Slinky Medium for my Martin DRS. The sound is exceptional both picking and finger-style. Its crisp, bright, well balance and the sustain is amazing! String does matter! If you love quality sound of your acoustic guitar, use this string! It seems a bit pricey but the sound of your guitar will be priceless!!!

  • Horrible...

As reviewed by ThatGuyWithBadStringsNow on 3/1/2011

Okay, I play guitar, so don't assume I am just getting on here and putting these strings down for the fun of it, because I am not. I went to a pawn shop, El Dorados, near where I live, and I bought these same strings for $20... My 'friend' recommended them to me instead of Elixir. I thought I should trust him because he is always talking about how he plays guitar, and how these are the best strings money can buy. Well, let me just say this, "Stop right there before you go and buy them." They can't keep a tune, they are too expensive, and they don't last very long at all. What was I thinking, Ernie Ball? Ernie Ball should stick with electric guitar strings, because they DO make those good. But you can't go from classic, distorted electric guitar solos to calm acoustic music. I am never going to buy these strings again. Either they are too sharp or too flat, you can't get a tone with these strings. Do yourself a favor, and just go with Elixir. They are cheaper, sound better, and are just overall more pleasant. Sorry Ernie Ball, I respect your electric guitar strings, but you just didn't do very good on these.
