I use these on my Takamine acoustic electric. I like them primarialy because they place less tension on the neck and bridge when tuned to pitch. They produce a bright yet mellow sound and stay in tune. The last set I put on, I've had on about five weeks so far. Although they've lost some of their original brightness(like all acoustic strings do)they still hold tune well and sound good. When the guitar is plugged into the amp they still produce a great sound. As always with any kind of stringed instrument, if you keep them clean they will last and sound better for a lot longer time period. I make it a point to wipe down my instruments when finished playing. Things last a lot longer and look better when kept clean.
these strings have the best sound for their price range the only complaint i have is the life span the sound goes away after 3 weeks but over all very nice.
I bought these for an old Stella-type laterally braced 12 string. If you've ever seen Lead Belly's guitar it's just like that. These came with a warning not to tune up to full pitch, so I actually have this set tuned way down to B standard. They have enough stiffness to not feel soggy, but give a nice warm mellow sound. They project nicely. I don't go through strings quickly (especially on a 12-string lol) so I can't really comment on how well they keep their brightness, I like them after they're a little dead personally. They've been on there a couple of months and still sound great to me.
