I purchased the Ernie Ball 2006 Earthwood EL strings for my Epiphone EJ-200 Acoustic. The strings have a very good sound with this guitar. I have had them on my Epi for a while now with a lot of playing time. These strings have lasted a longer than other strings I have used and sound just as good as the day I put them on!
I installed these strings on my Schmidt acoustic guitar and immediately noticed a huge difference. The sounds that came through were crisp, clear, and bright. Every note had a bell like tone that sounded beautiful. These strings were also smooth as silk and incredibly easy to play on. I prefer really light strings on all my guitars so if you want more tone or a deeper tone than these strings probably aren't for you.
I think these strings are good for just a quick replacement. The previous strings I used were the coated extra light, which were excellent. Sticking to ernie ball, I wanted something cheaper, so I got 4 of these. The first one lasted about 3 days before the G string snapped as I was tuning it up (I was tuned down 1 whole step). I'm on the 2nd set now and nothing bad has happened. I also noticed that the high strings are thinner than the coated. All in all, these strings a good, but not great.
