I just received this guitar the other day. First things first.. I really wanted to see how it stacked up to my Gibson LP. Out of the box, I noticed a few minor flaws...the knobs on the pots were a little crooked, there was a piece on the top of the bridge near the low E string saddle screw sticking up, the cover plate for the pots on the back was kinda scratched and the gold hardware wasn't as polished as I would have expected;that's it for the bad news. Now the good...The guitar itself is very solid and well built. The finish, seams, frets, inlays binding are perfect. It was set up to play right out of the box. The tone out of this thing is like the Gibson on Viagra. Plenty of gain with the active PU's, low metal growl, chunky attack! I tried it on the clean channel as well and was pleasantly surprised. Great versatility for something mainly touted as a metal guitar. The thing plays great too, very comfortable neck. It also stays in tune with very aggressive bending and tremolo. I'm picking nits here but I give this guitar four stars only because of the "bad news" items. They in no way affect the playability or even really the asthetics but I just feel that a guitar should be as good as it can be out of the box. But.. compared to a $3000+ Gibson, I gotta say this guitar definately holds it's own and is well worth the money.
I've had this guitar a little over a month and love it! I have a 90s Strat with Lace Sensor pickups and I am just blown away at how much this guitar screams with the EMGs. It is heavy, but not too bad. I tuned the guitar down to "BLS Tuning", i.e. down 1 step, and it stays in tune great w/o me having to mess with the intonation. I think the Bullseye is a great value for the money and would recommend it to both Zakk fans and people that don't want to drop several K on a Gibson.
Awwesome to play great action excellent sound for the price you cant beat it . I play it as much as my gibson. Seems really well built also really heavy all and all id gig with it scott forman
this guitar is all mahogany yes! this add is wrong no maple top they dont have maple tops anymore and the fret board is rosewood not ebony but a nice premium rosewood. Had some problems with raised frets not that big of a deal easy fix other than that the guitar has a nice tone great for hog squeals lol beautiful paint job and well crafted but gave her a 4 cause the website is wrong on specs which i confirmed with an Epiphone Rep.
Alright, i know what you're thinking: its an epiphone! not the real Gibson! Trust me, coming from a guitar player with 10+ Gibson guitars, this guitar is beyond worth it. It really packs sound, especially now that it comes with the 81-85 EMG's. And the Anitque Ivory finish is absolutely stunning! I just got it yesterday in the mail, very happy with the shipping! It also has a very nice neck profile, you can tell its Zakk Wylde's signature guitar. Its a bit heavy, but then again, Les Paul's are pretty much the heaviest guitars out there. Not too sure why it needs a 9 volt battery though... It sounds great and feels great, and the price wasn't too bad either! Yes, it's not quite like the Gibson model, but it still sounds awesome. It has a very deep sound, perfect for playing metal and rock n roll. The neck pickup is my favorite feature in this guitar. It plays nice and smooth and creamy. Its got a lot of character when you're doing your lead stuff and your soloing. Very worth it! highly recommended for someone who is a les paul player, and for anyone who loves Zakk Wylde!!!
Heck of an axe. No complaints. The neck is the biggest selling point. Maple, smooth as butter. Beautiful tone, nice thick mahogany body, great finish. My 6th LP purchase, and it's my #1 favorite to play. Great service and delivery from Guitar Center. I would've bought this one even w/out Zakk's signature, but I think it makes you play harder, strive to be a better musician. 81/85 active pickups absolutely scream. Found mine at the pittsburgh g.c. store. Well worth the money. Get a good case for it. I'm very pleased and would buy another one. Great experience over all.
