Overview

The Epiphone Tom Delonge Signature ES-333 is built to the exact specifications of Blink-182's guitarist, Tom Delonge. This cool new archtop combines semi-hollowbody design with the raw power of a USA-made Gibson Dirty Fingers humbucker pickup in a one-of-a-kind signature model. The Epiphone Tom Delonge Signature ES-333 features a mahogany center block for robust sustain wrapped in a laminated maple body. A solid mahogany neck joined at the 17th fret and the unique and instantly recognizable Tom Delonge "paintjob" featuring an eye-catching cream-colored racing stripe down the center of it's brown gloss finished body makes a bold statement.

Powerful Looks, Powerful Sound! Aside from the head-turning color-scheme, the real horsepower is under the hood and powered by one Humbucker pick-up. But it's not just any solitary Humbucker mind you! As Tom Delonge prefers for himself, this semi-hollowbody has one super-HOT Gibson USA Dirtyfingers Humbucker pickup right there at the bridge for sound that's guaranteed to cut through. Described as the critical union between power and dirt, Tom chose this pickup because "It's awesome. It sounds so good. It has so much more clarity and volume and a much wider sound... I instantly fell in love with it." Turn it down with the lone volume knob and turn your amp up for a clean, vintage tone, with a hearty breath of smoke. Turn both the guitar and your amp up and smoke the neighbors with Tom's signature tone!

Still Packed With More Value: Other details include a rosewood fingerboard with traditional "Dot" inlay, quality electronic parts including a full 1" 500K Ohm potentiometer and heavy-duty output jack. It also features chrome hardware including premium 16:1 ratio Grover machine heads for superior tuning stability and accuracy. Also included as standard equipment on the Epiphone Delonge Signature ES-333 are Epiphone's exclusive LockTone locking Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece which pump out even more sustain and make string changes a breeze.

Always There For You: The Epiphone Tom Delonge Signature ES-333 is protected by the Epiphone Lifetime Limited Warranty featuring Gibson 24/7/360 Customer Service and guarantees the instrument against defects in materials or workmanship.

now...im a HUGE blink and ava fan. i love the sound of the ES guitars but i dont like the humbuckers...i love open coils. this is the perfect guitar for fans of blink or someone wanting a nice alternative to the typical ES guitar. i always wanted a tom delonge signature but it was too expensive. the gibson pickup gives so much high-gain punk tone. the semi-hollow design gives a perfect effect tone. the tone is perfect with distortion, the feel is amazing and comfortable..its good for everything dealing with punk and the new-age scene AWESOME

This is an honest review not comig from some love-crazy Blink 182 fan. Made a guitar trade for it and ended up kind of dissapointed. Let me talk about the Cosmetics first. The finish in person is really ugly to me, its not green at all but a swampy brown. The matte finish leaves all kinds of streaks and marks when wiping it down or touching it, and it doesn't go away easily, mine even has tiny air bubbles visible in some places yep funky little swamp bubbles. If you touch any particular spot often enough with your hands it will begin to gloss up. The racing stripe is really cheap, chips and scuffs far too easily, and it sits on top of the finish, like thick dried up paint. I will give it points for the cool stained mahagony neck it looks really nice and the black epiphone logo. The neck binding is an awesome touch, the dot inlay are nicely done. Now playability, the slim-tapered neck plays silky smooth especially with the binding, and good action is easily attained. As you can expect from all of these 335 style guitars, access to the higher fets is limited, and can be tricky to manuever. When standing the guitar does wnat to lean downwards towards the neck, but this isn't terribly noticeable. More importantly how does it sound, well unplugged has great natural acoustic resonance. Sustain is good. But I hated the sound of the dirty fingers pickup as soon as first tried it, and worse the lone vol. does very little to help alter the tone. Very hot output, very dark and muddy tones. Extremely sensitive to overdrive, it will completely muc up your signal if you give it just enough gain. I thught it sounded far better with low gain, gives you some Nrvana-esque tone. I read the pickup originated in the 80's which makes since, cause' it definitely gives that hair-metal vibe more than punk. And I love punk, and indie rock so I just switched the pickup with a p90 to give it that jangly trashy sound. I wouldn't reccomend this to everyone because it sounds extra bright now with it being semi-hollow, high value pots, in combiation with a single coil pickup. As much as I hate the dirty fingers, it is valuable and there are lots of people who want them so selling it for a replacement is no problem. And there is no other pickup or combination of pickups to choose from, so your stuck with that sharpness you get from the pup being so close to the bridge. Among other things the grovers are adequate, far better than what you typically get with an epiphone, but isn't te end-all-be-all of your tuning worries. The bridge is the typical one you'd find on an epiphone, isn't that sturdy, without strings it will fall off, scratch your guitar. Thats pretty much it. I had big hopes and dreams for this guitar. I was going to paint it black (no pun intended) add a tone pot. But decided to give up and just get a gretsch.

Comments about Epiphone Tom Delonge Signature ES-333 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

The Gibson Dirty Fingers are great, i get a lot of compliments about it. I wish it had a bridge pick up and more controls but other than that its a good choice for decoration or playing. I've heard its not versatile but you may need a noise compression pedal for cleaner tones. I prefer distortion.

Comments about Epiphone Tom Delonge Signature ES-333 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I will try to keep this review as non-biased as possible, as I am a huge Blink-182/AVA fan. If you play punk rock, space rock, classic rock, grunge, any genre that requires something with a little extra oomf to it, look no further. This the guitar you want. Even playing on a clean channel you've got grit coming out. If you're looking for versatility, look somewhere else. This guitar sounds very Blink-182. You have one volume knob, one pickup, therefore, you have one sound. So if the sound you are trying to achieve is not loud, gritty, or hot, then this is not the guitar for you. I'd say this a great guitar to have in a lineup of guitars. But to have this as your one and only, you're going to find that you are very limited to sounds.

Comments about Epiphone Tom Delonge Signature ES-333 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

This guitar is an amazing guitar but you have to keep in mind that it is very one dimensional. It is similar to Tom's Fender with the single humbucker and one volume control. This guitar, like the Fender, is meant for a certain kind of sound and a certain kind of music. Being a huge Tom Delonge fan I have both his signature Fender and this Epiphone and they both give that exact sound you are looking for IF you are trying to play in the similar style. The dirty fingers pick up gives a deep and rich sound that you want. The play of the guitar is very comfortable as well. My one complaint about the matte finish is that it scratches easily and is very noticeable. You have to take extra care of it. So all in all, I absolutely love this guitar BUT like I said it is for a specific sound.

Greatest musical investment I've ever made. A TRUE MUST HAVE

Comments about Epiphone Tom Delonge Signature ES-333 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I play guitar just as a hobby, I'm not in a band or anything but I've been looking at this guitar for the longest time and when I finally got it and played the first notes, i knew it was the greatest thing I've ever bought in years. For a rather inexpensive guitar, this guitars clean tone is one of the most beautiful things you will ever hear, the semi hollow body gives it that echo, also making the notes sound clearer and as if they were being held longer. I can play an Angels and Airwaves song and a Ramones song back to back and people would have no idea its the same guitar. Greatest investment I've made in recent memory without question. Play this with a Boss DD7 delay pedal and let the magic happen

Comments about Epiphone Tom Delonge Signature ES-333 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

The neck on this guitar is the biggest I've ever seen on an electric. Its huge. Still playable but it really is very thick. The electronics are nice and it has decent tuning machines. The issue with mine is that it will not intonate. It gets very close but the bridge won't get it there. I plan on switching it out to a TonePros, which offers more travel distance of the saddles. Then it should be okay. There are better guitars in this price range.

I've been a long time Blink-182 fan, as well as AVA fan. So just had to purchase this guitar and I must say, it is awesome. The pick up is great for playing this kind of music. I got it back in May and am a tad late on posting my review but this guitar is a must for any Blink-182 fan, or Tom DeLonge fan Like myself. It's not heavy and is great all around. Even on a clean channel it sounds great.

At first, listening to the recent Blink and AVA live material, I didn't really think the tone was all that great. But when I plugged this guitar into my amp, it was much better then I expected. The Dirty Fingers does wonders, I can play some Blink and AVA, then put the gain up and do some more metal stuff with this, or play some nice ska with this.
