I am beyond impressed with this product from Epiphone! It has a very good and high end feel to it. I found the neck's profile to personally suit me very well and comfortable; however, there have been cases where people disagree, so I recommend trying it out for yourself at your local store before purchasing. I'm proud of the Seymour Duncan Slash signature Alnico II pickups that are fitted into this guitar. It has an astonishing tone that'll blow any, if not most, other economical guitar out of the water. I was especially impressed with the high gloss red finish, a great hue, as well with the AAA grade flamed maple top which has a nice "3D" effect. It also seems to keep in tune very well with only some small adjustments here and there. The case that is included is also very high quality and has a nice soft fabric. If anything, the one thing I would consider a con is that it doesn't have coil tapping or splitting, unlike other high end Epiphones. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this guitar to any player looking for an affordable higher end guitar.

I had to return mine because the guitar volume and tone knobs appear to be put in by a 2 year old. Not straight at all. I then tried to ignore this fact and proceeded to play it anyway. I was still going to keep it before i played it but at the first strum of the strings i hear the famous "FRET BUZZ" that was it i wasn't going to sit around waiting to see what else QC missed. Very bad quality control. For the price ESP beats Gibson and Epiphone together.

Comments about Epiphone Slash "Rosso Corsa" Les Paul Standard Outfit Electric Guitar:

I bought this as a practice guitar since my Gibson LP Traditional is really heavy. It looks pretty good for the price. The red flame finish is decent, but not perfect. You can tell it isn't a Gibson.

The volume and tone knobs are a little loose and they wobble just a little when turned. The pick-ups aren't bad, tho, and the action isn't too bad either.

The Slash logo screen print on the case is not centered very well. That's not a big deal, but just another example of possibly careless craftsmanship. The other thing that bothers me is the guitar was advertised as a new guitar with case and COA, but the serial number on the guitar is different that on the COA. Makes me wonder if it was a return etc...

All in all- not a bad guitar. I actually play it more than my Gibson now, but I appreciate the build on the Gibby even more now.

Comments about Epiphone Slash "Rosso Corsa" Les Paul Standard Outfit Electric Guitar:

This particular Epiphone model didn't need to be professionally set-up. It came with inspiring tone and playability right out of the case. The Duncan on the bridge complimented the 4-piece mahogany body (yes it's 4) and resonated like a PAF-wound pickup. The neck pup wasn't muddy and is perfect for blues licks, emulating Slash's GNR Tokyo clean tone back in the day. The neck is real meaty and it's not an entirely bad thing. IMO, if you really intend to learn music and play, doesn't matter what neck profile's out there. This is my 6th Epiphone guitar and I just find it weird how Epiphone seems to get signature guitars right, but when it comes to mid and entry level guitars, problems in the upper fret area (where there's tremendous fret buzz and dead notes) aren't being addressed. It puts people off, really. And where the heck is that pick guard that's supposed to be "inside the case???" FYI: there aren't screw holes on the body for a pick guard, so I guess the Epi marketing team "screwed" this one up. :) With everything that's been said, this Slash model DOES NOT disappoint. And compared to my Gibson Studio LP (50's Tribute), it sustains more and sings waaaaay better. Odd thing though, both the Gibson and Epi are weight-relieved, but the Epi's a tad heavier. That might explain why there's that (major) difference in tone between both Les Pauls.

Great tone. Pick ups sound better than my Gibson Studio and Gibson Traditional which cost much more. Fret wires are rough and the color of the tuner knobs is not appealing. Overall, a great guitar. Thanks Slash and Epiphone. This one is a tone monster.

Comments about Epiphone Slash "Rosso Corsa" Les Paul Standard Outfit Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar with high expectations due to the reviews it had received, and the fact that Slash usually doesn't put his name on garbage. He's always been my favorite guitarist and I've always admired the sounds he gets with his Les Pauls... So, I went for it (not having the money to spend on the Gibson). I haven't been disappointed for a second! The tone and sustain are incredible. The larger neck is perfect for my bigger hands (I'm used to Strats). It stays in tune, even through extensive bending.... and through my old tube Marshall, I get that Slash sound I'm looking for. This has quickly turned into one of my favorite guitars!

I was totally prepared to buy this guitar until I tried one out in store. What a utter disappointment it was and I'm a huge Slash and Epiphone fan. The guitar itself is really pretty as far as the color and finish. The Seymour Duncan Slash pickups have a good tone as well. The neck and fretboard on the other hand are terrible. I've been playing guitar for 27 years and this was the THICKEST neck and widest fretboard i've ever encountered. 15 minutes of playing equals major fret hand cramps and I have large hands. I find it hard to believe that Slash likes his own guitars to have a neck like this. I own the Epiphone AFD guitar and it is a better instrument. Trust me, try before you buy.
