To me the Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE is by far one of the best steelstring guitars out there. I was looking for a steelstring with a wider nut/fretboard (This one is 1.750") because I'm more a nylon strings player. I've played many steelstrings guitars at Guitarcenter before I decided to purchase the Masterbilt and I fell in love instantly when I hooked it up to the amp. Phenomenal!! There's no need to mention all the specs (which can be found on the Epiphone website) but I must say that this is just an amazing sounding guitar. It comes with the eSonic 2 system by Shadow. Here is a recording with this Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE and make up your mind. I received this beauty within 3 days without any flaws. Thanks to Musician's Friend. Great service!!!

I ordered one of these and when it arrived I was told it had shipping damage but the box was not damaged and the saddle was lifting off the top. I gave the store the benefit of the doubt and ordered another one to replace the "damaged" original only to have that arrive with the saddle lifting slightly and evidence of poor workmanship in a few spots. This is a "Masterbilt" product??? Yikes!! Count me out. There was a different, less expensive "Masterbilt" in the guitar section of the store and it was virtually flawless. Either quality control at Epiphone is slipping badly these days or everyone involved thinks buyers just don't care about what they purchase. A shame really! No winners to be found when all is said and done.

Comments about Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE Fingerstyle Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was looking for a decent guitar with wide string spacing, fat neck, solid woods, cutaway with humbucker and saddle pickup with tuner. I got all of that and then some with this Masterbilt. I own a Martin 00028EC and did not feel comfortable lugging it around in and out of my truck and gigs and worrying. This Epi has solid rosewood and solid cedar top. It does not have the deep thud of the Martin but the cedar sounds very nice and is breaking in well. With the superb electronics, great gold tuners, tasteful inlay, and dual input this is a tremendous value. I got a level three with a slight knock in headstock for 50% off retail.
Changed strings, lowered action and away it goes, very nice guitar I can take camping and gigging without the worry. I removed pickgaurd, gives the guitar more character, better sound.
I've had epiphones since since 1968. I actually have a 1934 Epiphone, lots of mojo.
This new masterbilt is commendable, comfortable, and fits the guitar slot I was aiming for. Well done Epiphone.

Comments about Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE Fingerstyle Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I considered several high end brands but beyond what I felt I wanted to spend, I do feel given the quality and sound of this guitar it's value far exceeds the money spent. I have been playing music since I was 14,(66 now), and I still play about 130 gigs a year. This is the finest sounding, looking, and best feel of a guitar I have ever owned. It has a very full, loud, rich sound unplugged but played through my Fishman Artist Pro it's just sweet. It was on back order, had to wait several months, but oh so worth the wait, I love this guitar.

Comments about Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE Fingerstyle Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

open box unit from MF. not a blemish on it. needs a fresh set of strings. i expected that and it is not a problem. awesome... cedar top, rose wood back and sides, v shape neck, shadow brand pickups, it is a finger style guitar, different setup than my dreadnought or archtop, you will have to pry it from my cold dead hands... ha ha ha ha ha. I am keepin' it! another fine mint quality open box unit from MF.

          thanks folks!

Excellent guitar. Plekd and setup in US. This guitar has the strings wider apart than normal(fingerstyle). I preferred the normal string width, so I returned it. But very good guitar.

Comments about Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE Fingerstyle Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is one of the best sounding Acoustic guitars out there. Compare it to other big name Guitars that are all solid wood and price differences! The craftsmen ship is flawless! The tone is amazing unplugged! Plug in the e-sonic and magic happens!!! Being able to blend the two pickups is tonal heaven. Then you can even have the extra option to split the pickups to different amps!!! Well worth the money! I urge anyone to try these guitars out. I traded in my Taylor made GS mahogany mini the an L. R. baggs Active M-1 pickup for this guitar and glad I did.

Recently purchased and very happy with the Masterbuilt quality. Good projection when played acoustic. I would compare with instruments 2-3 times the cost. (Taylor/Martin)
Value for dollar, exceeds any other acoustic/electric guitar on the market today.
