I bought the DR-500R about a year and a half ago and have been absolutely delighted with its playability and the sound. They really did a nice job with this and in my 40 plus years of playing I've not seen a guitar in this price range that sounds and plays this well. This one will compete with any of the big names and heavy priced guitars. If you need a good acoustic, check this one out before you buy any other.
When I bought this guitar, I was looking for a guitar to compliment my bluesy, rough, hard playing. This guitar has wonderful tone for anyone looking to play a little rough with their acoustic. I played this guitar for hours a day for a year straight after buying it. Play one and see if it suits your needs. If you play hard like I do, this guitar will deliver a beautiful tone and it only gets better with age. Three years after purchasing mine, I am still in love with it. This is the only acoustic guitar I will ever play. It is a masterpiece.
For the money you cant beat this guitar!I have played Taylor and other expensive guitars and was very impressed with the sound of this one.If your looking for quality for a good price this is the one.
I bought this guitar 5 years ago at a pawn shop. It's previous owner was a gentleman that played for Gretchen Wilson,so I was told. It has a custom pick-up which was added after market. I played this guitar for about 2 years and then sold it to a friend of mine in order to buy Hummingbird. It wasn't very long after I sold it, I bought it back. The sound and playability of this guitar is amazing. Finger action, whether playing chords or notes, is as smooth as any Gibson guitar. The thickness of the neck is what sold me on this guitar. Your hand does not get tired no matter how long you play. For the money, You can't buy a better guitar. I've been playing for 41 years and have owned a lot of guitars and this one is by far on of my favorites.
i got this guitar from my local music store, it is my 2nd favorite guitar next to the faded Gibson LP. it jus has a real mellow sound, and is great for pick, finger, or hybrid ive tried a little bit of all of them and im impressed by the comfort of this guitar. only problem is when you go to change the strings be careful, the nut jus popped off on me. but thts easily fixed with a bit of super glue. (glue to the fretboard not headstock & use as little glue as possible)
