Epiphone Mandolin

By Chad Warren

from Dayton, OH

Comments about Epiphone MM-20 Mandolin:

I play guitar and many other instruments, and I wanted to start playing other instruments for fun. It is a very beautiful sounding instrument. I had slight trouble setting up the instrument, and there is some slight buzz, but I believe that is due to my error. Hope this helps.

Excellent Mandolin For The Price

By Rick Kaylor

from El Cajon, CA

Comments about Epiphone MM-20 Mandolin:

I'm a guitarist that has been playing for 35 years and I have multiple high quality guitars. About 3 years ago I picked up the mandolin. I didn't want to invest in a costly instrument since I wasn't sure if I'd like it. The quality and the workmanship on this mandolin is amazing considering the cost. The action is very good and it is easy to play. The tone is a little weak compared to other more expensive mandolins but is very acceptable. It is a very good bargain and great for a beginner. My advice for a begineer would be to have it initially set up by someone who knows what they are doing since mandolins aren't as forgiving when it comes to intonation and bridge adjustments as guitars. I've since invested in a more expensive mandolin but I always find myself picking this one up to play.

So Far So Good...

By newtothemando

from Seattle

Comments about Epiphone MM-20 Mandolin:

Being new to mandolin I didn't want to spend too much cash on one. I've had this instrument for a few weeks now. So far I'm loving it. It sounds decent, looks good, and with a little set up work (bridge and nut) it's relatively easy to play. So far, definitely worth the money. As for how it's going to hold up... Only time will tell.

Great beginner Mando

By GuitarPlayer

from Undisclosed

Comments about Epiphone MM-20 Mandolin:

I got this Mando as a starter instrument while I took a break from guitar playing. I have played a variety of guitars (acoustic, acoustic-electric, and electric) from many guitar makers. This was my first Mandolin and I am glad I got it. For relatively little money, you get a great sounding and well built instrument, perfect for learning. As with many low-priced instruments, get some good strings along with it and restring it.
