Overview

Classic SG-Shape: Since its introduction in 1960, this two-horned monster has graced the hands of some of the greatest guitarists of all time. Its double-cutaway body offers unequaled upper fret access while it's lightweight, contoured shape makes it easy to play. Night after night… gig after gig.

Angled Headstock: Unlike other designs, the Epiphone Ltd Ed SG-Junior feature a 14-degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut and so you get more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets.

Upgraded Controls: Traditional large diameter potentiometers give you smoother range and longer life.

Upgraded Switches: All Epiphones feature all-metal, USA-designed switches for reliable contact and longer life.

Rosewood Fingerboards: The rosewood fingerboards provides a smoother feel and longer life. Plus, dirt and grunge doesn't show like it does on cheaper maple fingerboards.

Humbucking Pickup: If you wanna Rock, you gotta have a humbucker! With its dual-coil design, the 700T mounted in the bridge position eliminates unwanted "hum", humbuckers are the choice of professional rockers worldwide. Rich, rock tone with no noise — don't settle for less!

Three-On-A-Side Machine Heads: More spacing and larger buttons make the 3+3 headstock and tuner design easier and faster to use.

Precision Machine Heads: Premium, precision 14:1 tuners provide ease of use, excellent tuning stability and long life.

So beautiful!

By Michael Berkowitz

Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed SG-Junior Electric Guitar:

Perfect finish (TV Yellow,) setup, intonation, sound and playability. Indonesia is the new center of the guitar industry. I've been playing almost 60 years and the Epiphone custom shop Juniors/Specials are VERY special. Kudos!

Amazing for the price tag!

By Andrew Fridsma

from Orlando area, Florida

Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed SG-Junior Electric Guitar:

Got this guitar a couple weeks ago and I'm loving it! For the price, this sucker is practically a steal! The build is great, the sustain is amazing for being a bolt-on neck, and the intonation on the bridge is pretty good once set up. The tuners work fine and haven't slipped out of tune yet. It's basswood, so it does feel a little cheap, but it is extremely light! It's very warm-sounding also, which is nice to have alongside my tele for some variation. If I had some more money to burn, I probably wouldn't hesitate to get a second one!

Best $93 I ever spent on one guitar

By John Inama

from Cheyenne, WY

Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed SG-Junior Electric Guitar:

I went to Guitar Center last weekend during the green tag sale to pick up this guitar's brother, the Les Paul Junior, but the one they had in stock was damaged. I looked around and found this. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was the finish. It's called work black but it looks more like a very dark brown, especially on the neck. The whole thing is satin, which I love. The second thing I noticed was the "Made in Indonesia" sticker on the back. I've played and owned many Indonesian-made guitars and they've always been well made, much better than Chinese guitars. As soon as I started playing it I knew I had to bring it home. The neck was comfortable, a little chunky with a nice flat fretboard, and with the satin back it was quick. The fret work was perfect, the setup was good, the tuners were cheap but felt solid, and the intonation was good. Anyone who says you can't properly intonate one of these hasn't tried hard enough. The quality of this guitar is as good as my $300 Ibanez or my $350 Mexican Fender. The pickup is powerful. I had to turn the gain down on my amp because it drove it so well. It cleans up OK, but it's not about clean tones. It's a simple, stripped down rocker. I played it all weekend and I absolutely love it. After a good string stretch, tuning was rock solid. Even my wife, who's not a musician, said it was the best sounding guitar I own. If you're in Guitar Center and see one of these, buy it. Especially if it's still on sale for $93. It would be a bargain at twice the price.

Best guitar I own and 1/3 the price

By Lyle Schmitz

from St. Louis

Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed SG-Junior Electric Guitar:

I'd just like to start this off by saying I'm not some new guitarist who bought this as his first guitar. I've been playing for 8 years, and I own 3 Epis (LP, Wilshire, G-400) and a Gibson (SG Standard). I bought this guitar because it was cheap and it's very similar to the Gibson SGX (played by my all-time hero Alex Gaskarth). This guitar is by far my favorite. And yes, that means I prefer it over the Gibson I payed 700 dollars for (used). It may just be this specific one, but I honestly think Epi has outdone themselves. Sound is phenomenal, very crunchy, and it ranges from really bright to surprisingly thick. I love the single-pickup design, it keeps it light and simple. The finish is absolutely gorgeous and seems to hold up very well. Everything is matte, which is beautiful and makes the neck very easy to play on. Speaking of the neck, this is the reason I love this guitar so much. It plays MARVELOUSLY. The only problems I have with this guitar are the bolt-on neck, which prevents me from using DiMarzio Clip-Lock straps as I do on all my other guitars. If you're thinking about buying one, buy it. It will not disappoint. Hell, if it's still around in January I may buy another. Maybe 2!

A good item for the money. Much better than the Epi LP junior. I would recommend lowering the action and replacing the tuning machines. The bright sound and good pickup were a surprise.

I just started playing a few months ago and to be honest I don't know a lot yet, but I really like the sound and playability of this. The price was great and the setup feels perfect. I love the action on it. It'll do great for me for awhile.

Bought this for Grandaughter to learn on. At first I was disappointed and frustrated. Couldn't get A string to intone, tried everything. Adjusted neck, adjusted bridge, and just couldn't get it to intone. Dumb me, put on new set of strings and she sings. Put on new strings right out of the box and adjust neck and I think you will be pleased.

        Great buy

        By James Daniel

        from Knoxville TN

Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed SG-Junior Electric Guitar:

I picked this guitar because I wanted to start playing Rocksmith on my 360 and couldn't find a bundle pack to get me a guitar that would actually work. I went down to my local store with the intention of buying a Les Paul Jr and saw this little beauty. I loved the worn cherry finish (though they had the worn black and worn TV yellow as well). It feels good in my hands and is pretty easy to slide up and down the neck for easy fretting. I've only owned it for about a month now and loved every minute of it. I thought I may have to change the strings for better ones but so far the originals are working just fine and only needed to be tuned once so far with moderate use. Overall I would(and have) recommend this guitar for anyone looking to start playing or looking for a really nice practice guitar.
