Overview

The Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 Acoustic Guitar shares the classic Advanced Jumbo style acoustic that’s been making history for nearly a century, now built especially for new players. The Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 sets a new standard for entry-level instruments without sacrificing tone, style, or quality. The new AJ-100 is available only at Select Epiphone Dealers

The first “100” series guitar, the Epiphone DR-100 “Dreadnought” style, has been Epiphone’s best-selling acoustic guitar for over a decade and is renown for its bold tone. The new AJ-100 "Advanced Jumbo" or sloped shoulder acoustic guitar is just as famous for having a slightly sweeter tone that’s perfect for both leading a band and for solo singers.

The AJ-100 features a mahogany body and a select spruce top, one of the premier tonewoods for superior acoustic sound. The select spruce top is braced internally in the same style as vintage "Advanced Jumbo" guitars to give the AJ-100 its trademark up-front tone. The mahogany neck has a SlimTaper "D" profile that’s easy to hold for long hours of play. The neck is glued to the body and hand-set so the entire guitar resonates as if it were a single piece of wood. The Mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with a 12 in. radius and 20 Medium Jumbo frets. The bigger the frets, the easier it is on your fingers when learning to press down strings and form chords. The neck is fully adjustable via a truss rod under the traditional Epiphone & Gibson "bell-shaped" cover. The AJ-100 also has a rosewood bridge with a compensated saddle for consistent intonation.

Tuning the Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 is easy with Epiphone machine heads with a 14:1 that make learning to tune easy, intuitive, and best of all–fast and accurate.

Poor bridge construction (lifting bridges)

By Edward

from Stroudsburg, Pa

Comments about Epiphone Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 Acoustic Guitar:

I bought three of these guitars that were defective. The bridges were all lifting off of them and had to be returned. They also had huge amounts of glue running all over the insides. Thank goodness Guitar Center is such a decent place. They refunded me, seeing the lifting bridge problems. Guitar Center is simply the best place in the world to buy a guitar. GC is on the ball.

Works for what it is ... or, rather, what I'm using it for .

Comments about Epiphone Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 Acoustic Guitar:

I gave my other beater guitar, a Fender, to my a niece, and figured I'd try an Epi this time around ... It's OK for what it is: a guitar that if someone knocked it into the bonfire at the beach, I wouldn't wig out over it ... the fret work on the edges of the neck was a little rough, but it's tone is acceptable, and it is playable.

Comments about Epiphone Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 Acoustic Guitar:

I've been playing for 50+yrs I've owned Epi's for as long as I've played and I'm always impressed with the sound, playablilty and value as compared to all of it's competition. I have always loved the sound of mahogany body and neck! My guitar came well packed as always from GC and needed no more than tuning. I will put Elixier strings on it and probably lightly adjust the truss rod. It's important to learn to set up your guitar as all new ones need setup. Once again well done Epiphone!

An exceptional guitar for beginner or experienced player!

Comments about Epiphone Ltd. Ed. AJ-100 Acoustic Guitar:

I've played for over 30 years at this point and really have nothing bad to say about this box! It's a no frills guitar to be sure, but is exceptional in its simplicity and playability. Got the Epi VS AJ 100 from GC on sale and that's what initially drew me to it. My instincts were solid. Build, finish and materials are of high quality. No issues at all. Intonation and set up were spot on. 5 stars for quality, sound and price
