I knew when I first saw this guitar advertised that I was going to have to get one. I like to collect the odd guitars (new and old) that come along and the features of this guitar excited me. I got in one of the first orders for this guitar and though it missed the release date, I did get one about 3 weeks later. It was worth the wait. Setup out of the box was very good, just had to tune it up and plug it in and it was good to go. The action is great, the humbuckers are fine and the whole guitar is certainly a good value for the money. The Arctic White finish was very good and I love the set neck and the thin body. I'll play out with it soon. It's a darned good buy - get one while you can.

Well as another noted my Jack imput was also loose. Played for a few days and love the sound and action on the neck. The problem I have found is its a fixed neck and the slightest weight of my cord hand on the neck makes the strings sound sharp or flat. Almost like theres something between the neck and body and it rocks back and forth on it. I am returning the item only for replacement in hopes it does not have the same issues. If this neck was not the way it is I would rate this guitar 5+ . I will write another review after replacement. I do love the sound, action and the looks. DA

dont underestimate

By Sam

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS GUITAR!!!! although i have only played this in-store, I believe it has amazing potential. All the default products are great, you will probably not need to replace pickups, strings, etc. do not pay for overpriced gibsons when epiphones are perfectly fine. I own an Epiphone LP-100. It plays fine compared to a Gibson les paul. just because it is cheap, does not mean its bad. the only reason i gave it 4 stars is because I dont own it

wilshire reissue

By Dave Dorflinger

from warrenton missouri

I really like this guitar. It's not a high dollar axe but it looks cool and it played really well right of the box. The pickups are better than expected and it had a wide range of sound. The tuners and hardware are also decent. There were a few minor issues with the finish. I bought 2 and kept the best one. I lowered the action and put a set of 9 earnie balls on it. The neck is straight with no fret buzz anywhere. I have nothing negative to say about it. I own a 74' Epi wilshire (my first guitar) and the hardware on this guitar is of much better quality. It's good enough to use professionally but it would really be a great guitar for a beginner because it's fun to play and it's priced right. In fact, it's a steal.

Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire

By Dave A.

from Lake Powell, Ut

This is a second review to retract statements from my first. I just recieved my new Wilshire after sending the first one back and I am very happy with the return. First off the inner box was sealed from the factory and unopened as the first one was NOT sealed. The neck is solid and doesnt shift as the first did. I love the action of this guitar just out of the box. The Hummbuckers sound great, no buzzing and the neck doesnt seem as heavy or off balance as the first guitar did. For the price you cannot beat it. Have played some 800 and 900 guitars and like this one much better. Easy chords, slick lead's and a nice smooth slideable neck. 5 Stars, This is a fun Guitar.. Get One!

Very Nice Guitar! Buy for the Money!

By Edward T. Riffman of "Riffman & Stee

from Florence, KY

I bought this guitar about 4 months ago. Its a very nice guitar. It's my first Epiphone, and i was not Disappointed. I use it when i play Hard Rock AC/DC Kind of stuff. I'm more of a Metal player. Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest. I like to Shred and this Guitar is not great for that. Thats why I bought an Ibanez. lol. But when i want to play anything Rock this my choice. I had to get strings for it but that's about it. Very easy setup. Overal this a very guitar for the money. If you don't own one. Get one!

Fantastic Guitar

By Tim

from NY

Well when I first saw this guitar it looked exotic and quite amazing it was one of the few guitars that actually caught my eye. I had to get that guitar, I though I ordered it online(best and maybe the only option). Waited like a (week, worth the wait) when I got it I plugged it in and tested it in anyway I could. The first thought that came to my mind was "wow!" sound was good and the pick-ups seem fantastic. It was worth the money too and the fact that it was a limited edition from epiphone makes it even more better. This guitar is FANTASTIC!!!

Not Bad For The Money

By Robert J Smith

from Las Vegas

This guitar has received a lot of bad reveiws I myself was skeptical being a player for 15 years. However my experience right out of the box was a decently crafted instrument for the money yeah its not a gibson or a paulreed but for the money your getting a decent deal. It has a unique sound and look I own by far more expensive guitars but this one has been hard to put down I would recomend it for the beginner or anyone looking for something different however not so impressed with the strings and setup. But to each their own thats why their adjustable nd can be made to fit the player overall great job epiphone another purchase another pleased customer.

Craftsmanship and Quality needs to improve drastically

By MD

from Irving, Texas

I was excited to see this shape and style of guitar return from Epiphone but the real product was a complete let down. I bought this online without ever seeing it in person and was completely disappointed when it arrived. Right out of the box I found 3 paint flaws, a big scratch on the pick guard, and the truss rod cover stuck up a half inch off of the headstock. I was astounded that these type of flaws could make it past final inspection. I have been a true fan of Epiphone equipment since I bought an Epiphone acoustic guitar in 1968 and most recently an Epiphone Dot Deluxe that is fantastic. I must say that Epiphone struck out on this guitar since the material on this Wilshire is not even the quality of a childs toy and has missed a real opportunity to revive a great guitar model that could easily complete with the Fender Strat market. But Epiphone needs to think hard about the craftsmanship on this one. I will state that my dealings with Guitar Center on returning the guitar was a professional experience and handled quickly and without any problems. I will definitely purchase online again from Guitar Center without any worries. Final word - Stay far away from this low end Epiphone Wilshire until they correct the cheap parts quality and the line inspections on it. As it is now, this is just a kids toy.
