I knew when I first saw this guitar advertised that I was going to have to get one. I like to collect the odd guitars (new and old) that come along and the features of this guitar excited me. I got in one of the first orders for this guitar and though it missed the release date, I did get one about 3 weeks later. It was worth the wait. Setup out of the box was very good, just had to tune it up and plug it in and it was good to go. The action is great, the humbuckers are fine and the whole guitar is certainly a good value for the money. The Arctic White finish was very good and I love the set neck and the thin body. I'll play out with it soon. It's a darned good buy - get one while you can.

I had some extra cash to buy a new guitar. I really liked what people were saying about the Wilshire's playability, and thought the look of it was too great to pass up. I really enjoy playing it, the G string sounded a bit funny, but I fixed that with not too much effort. My major concern is the output jack. It's failed on me twice in less than 4 months of owning it! And the kicker is that it's sounding like it's going to fail again. I'm not sure if I got a lemon, but I'm really glad that I got the Gold Coverage, because if it does end up failing a third time, I'll get my money back, and just buy a different guitar.Overall, it's worth a shot if you just want to have a new guitar. Not sure if you'll have the same trouble I had.Bummer days dudes.

VINTAGE VIBE for DAYS

By The GIGman

from The Glorius I.E

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

Epiphone must really be getting positive buzz from owners' of these way cool guitars. Either that or they have tons of Wilshire bodies they need to dress up and move out the door! I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!!This is the original version of the current Wilshires being offered ( and the second one I bought!) With the Wilshire "Pro" and the mini humbucker faded versions updating the line-up you have lots of vintage vibe and tone to choose from for a very reasonable price! I bought my first LTD ED Wilshire about 5 years ago and loved it from day one. I just bought my second one recently ... for a spare in case these babies go extinct on me. This is one classy looking great sounding guitar and it has never let me down. Out of the box my Wilshire Ltd Ed needed some tweaking to the bridge and truss rod for a nice low buzz free action. Once set the Wilshire was smooth as butter and ready to go.With the bright white finish , block fret markers and exceptionaly way cool vintage "bat wing" headstock you get an classic looking ax that looks much more expensive than its' modest price suggests. The hardware is typical Epiphone and gave me zero problems. The tuners held up without a slip and the electronics gave me zero crackle , buzz or noise. I reccomend adding an Epiphone SG hardshell case as this case closest to the Wilshires' profile and gives a pretty good fit. Any of these Wilshires will satisfy your "vintage vibe" sweet tooth...you just cannot lose!

good little axe

By Gitfiddler-cBx1U

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

Surprisingly good little axe! Set up well from factory, with good fairly low action, which was a good surprise. Neck is pretty much a "slim taper" style - not quite as thick as my Les Paul, but perhaps not quite as slim tapered as my Les Paul DC. Somewhere in between, which feels good so far. Not the "worlds greatest" guitar, but it is sure amazing that this is what Epiphone can do with the price. Paint job isn't as slick as a pricier guitar, but I do not care. Playability and Slightly "neck heavy" as some reviews state, but it's no big deal. Certainly happy with the guitar!

dont underestimate

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS GUITAR!!!! although i have only played this in-store, I believe it has amazing potential. All the default products are great, you will probably not need to replace pickups, strings, etc. do not pay for overpriced gibsons when epiphones are perfectly fine. I own an Epiphone LP-100. It plays fine compared to a Gibson les paul. just because it is cheap, does not mean its bad. the only reason i gave it 4 stars is because I dont own it

Great Axe for the Money!

By Jeffro

from Cleveland, OH

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

Just picked up this guitar at the clearance price. I'd been watching it for a while and when the price dropped I couldn't pass it up. It arrived a few days later and I wasn't disappointed. Guitar was in perfect shape, frets were level with no buzz (thank god), playability is excellent, hardware is great. I have had problems in the past with the nuts pinching the strings causing them to go sharp or flat when playing, and this guitar is perfect. The quality control team did a great job. All I had to do was lower the action and I was good to go. I had actually already been eying replacement pups for this axe before it even arrived as I was worried they wouldn't be hot enough for me, but so far I am pleased. May just leave them stock. Anyone considering this guitar should do themselves a favor and pick it up at this price. It's a fantastic deal. BTW, I play rock and hair metal and through my digitech rp155, this guitar sounds fantastic!

Great sounding guitar

By fhinton-C3fjQ

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

For years, I've played a Fender Strat. This guitar was so easy to transition too. It is as light as my Strat but has the humbucker sound of an SG or Les Paul. It also has excellent playability. I would definitely recommend this guitar to pros and beginners alike.

A Whole Lot of Guitar For a Whole Lot Less Cash

By Joshua Blair

from Salem, OH

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

I am not sure what is with all the bad reviews. The jack seems fine, it's actually a rather tight jack. It stays in tune great, almost every morning when I go to play it, it's still perfectly in tune. My serial number was not a sticker, and the finish on mine is almost flawless, with a few hardly noticeable nicks in the pickgaurd. Other than that, for the price, it's unbeatable. This is perfect for broke Gibson lovers like myself. I never wanted to get an Epiphone Les Paul or SG, just because it screams "I'm too poor to have a Gibson." This, however has it's own unique look, yet feels and sounds a lot like a Gibson. It also does have that unmistakable Gibson look, but it also has it's own cool look, and isn't a copy of that Les Paul or SG you can't afford. It makes you proud to say "I play an Epiphone!" The pickups do sound surprisingly good, but I probably will switch out the bridge with a JB, but I'd do that with a Gibson as well.Bottom line- No, it's not a Gibson. But for this price, it's the next best thing, and it has enough unique features so you won't feel ashamed to play an Epiphone.

wilshire reissue

By Dave Dorflinger

from warrenton missouri

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

I really like this guitar. It's not a high dollar axe but it looks cool and it played really well right of the box. The pickups are better than expected and it had a wide range of sound. The tuners and hardware are also decent. There were a few minor issues with the finish. I bought 2 and kept the best one. I lowered the action and put a set of 9 earnie balls on it. The neck is straight with no fret buzz anywhere. I have nothing negative to say about it. I own a 74' Epi wilshire (my first guitar) and the hardware on this guitar is of much better quality. It's good enough to use professionally but it would really be a great guitar for a beginner because it's fun to play and it's priced right. In fact, it's a steal.

More for less

By SG4life-r2FTd

from Texas

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

I saw this guitar last year, and I couldn't wait to own one, myself. I've had it for about half a year now and it's one of the best guitars I've bought. Aside from the loose input jack, and the infamous "top-heavy" syndrome, I have no complaints. My tone is mostly treble-y, and this guitar is perfect for that. It can even handle tunings down to drop G, and still sounds great. I use this one live more often because it's the most reliable guitar I own. You're getting a whole lot more guitar for less money with this one.

Very Good Even With The Flaws

By Jerry H

from New Jersey Pine Barons

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wilshire Electric Guitar:

Cons: It had some bad Flaws but I WON'T give it up ! I have used it about 2 months and when I received it the input jack wasn't making all the time and was loose . A real annoying thing . I changed it and the other problem is the 3 position toggle switch . It doesn't work in the middle position . I play Warm , Mellow music so I am usually on the neck pick-up . PROS - I love the look and finish AND the SOUND is so sweet , I call her sweetness . It's a really good sounding body especially with electric flat wound chrome strings . I fixed the flaws myself and play it 2 hours a day at least . I love it , flaws and all . You can't beat the price I just hope your inspector is better than mine .
