Overview

There's nothing cooler than wielding a limited-edition axe like the Epiphone Limited Edition Wildkat Royale Electric Guitar. Now you don't have to be a rock star to own one.

The limited-edition Wildkat Royale has the same traditional f-hole archtop design as the popular Epiphone Wildkat series, but with the look of a customized finish. It's larger in size than a Les Paul, yet smaller than a DOT 335. The mahogany body has a laminated maple top with a classy pearl white finish adorned with gold hardware, while the hard maple neck is topped with a rosewood fretboard. The Bigsby trem adds to its classy appearance and the 2 alnico P-90 single-coil pickups crank out monster tone. Case sold separately.

I have been waiting for GC to get these in stock. Well worth the wait. Pictures can not truly capture this beauty's luster. It's white pearlescent finish is highlighted by it's gold sparkle banding. This model Wildkat is also made special by it's gold hardware. The only other Wildkat with this feature is the now out of production "Aged Tiger". But good looks is not it's only charm. This guitar "Rocks", whether your playing rockabilly, country, blues or heavy metal. This guitar feels right. It's body size is just slightly larger than a Les Paul. The Bigsby whammy bar is a nice touch. Dollar for dollar, you won't find a better value. Don't just take my word for it. Road test one of these Gems and decide for yourself.

Disappointed

Save your money. Build quality is awful. Good price on an attractive but poorly crafted guitar. Buy a Gretch Electromatic for a few hundred more and you'll have a much better guitar.

Great guitar, Lots of fun

By Bill Fahrner

from Chatham, Ontario

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wildkat Royale Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar about 2 weeks ago and love it. I did have to switch the knobs around as they were in the on the wrong pots. Go by the manual or google the proper installation. Not a big deal, just a little confusing at first. Also, with all of this gold, the black plastic knobs were out of place, so I changed them into these gold ones I got off of ebay. I'll post a pic and I'm sure you'll agree. Just make sure and buy metric ones as this guitar is Asian made. The Toggle switch might be standard threads as the metric one didn't fit.

Just buy it!

By JOSEPH

from port st. lucie , florida

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wildkat Royale Electric Guitar:

If there is such a thing as a 'perfect guitar' this is it! I received mine five days ago and haven't put it down since. This is one cool Kat! What really blew me away was the neck. It's straight as an arrow, and the frets are perrrrfet! The P90's sound great, too, and I have no tuning problems even with the Bigsby. The intonation was excellent, right out of the box; all I did was lower the action a little. Not one buzz! Best of all are the overtones you get when plugged into a good amp. Even without an amp, this thing sings! Great for any kind of music, blues, rock, jazz... Oh, what the heck - just buy it!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wildkat Royale Electric Guitar:

Love the Rockabilly and yesteryear style , but I can't understand why Epiphone will not offer as an option , a Gibson 50's style neck or at least a 59 style on any of their guitars , after all , Gibson owns Epiphone . Thanks for this beautiful guitar .

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wildkat Royale Electric Guitar:

I got the Bigsby adjusted and lubed and it actually stays in tune and works! It has its own sound, seems like more of a frontman/rhythm guitar. It is definitely not distortion channel friendly - it can howl like a beast. My two guitarist sons love the thing. It really is a great stage guitar, and feels very rock solid when playing it.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wildkat Royale Electric Guitar:

Excellent guitar for the price. Only issues I have (for the money, these aren't really "issues") are that I have to retune it often, and the neck isn't nearly as smooth as my Godin LGXT. Still, this is an excellent guitar and very fun to play.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Wildkat Royale Electric Guitar:

This is a beauty! Great neck and solid tone. Gorgeous to look at. Had to put on a roller bridge to keep in tune but that fixed it and didn't cost much. They should come with roller bridges to work with the bixby but that was the only change it needed.
