The thing I love most about this guitar is the Versatility, Along with the looks, fast neck, warm sound, the punch it has for hard rock/metal, price and overall quality of this guitar. I've had it a week. Bought it at my local guitar shop, Played it 5 mins and then I knew. I can't tell that big of a difference when I'm playing Epiphone Les Pauls vs Gibson Les Pauls, Other than price... But I recommend Epiphone Les Pauls TO ANY experience level... I mostly play Metal, But I love Blues acdc and slash solos on this thing!
This is my 7th Les Paul Epiphone. I love all of them. I have 3 Gibson Les Pauls and I have to try very hard to find a difference to really justify the price differences.
This guitar is just plain sharpe!
Highly recommend this and all Epiphone Les Pauls. This one looks, feels and sounds amazing. Get one before they stop making them and they become collectible!
Well if you love Les Pauls then you know what they offer and this one doesn't disappoint. It is absolutely gorgeous with all the gold hardware, gold binding as well as the white pearl sparkle finish. It is so classy looking. It looks like a much more expensive guitar. The only thing I could find that made this guitar a factory 2nd is a small, and i mean small maybe 1/8" black mark on the back near the backing plates. I dont mind it having a little 2nd stamp on the rear of the headstock.
Epiphone Les Pauls to me are pretty much on par with the Gibson's if the electronics are right. This thing has Grover tuners, the pickups sound great and even if you don't like them, you can put whatever ones you want in it and still be no where close to the Gibson price. This as the cool Epiphone Custom Shop logo on the back. It makes me feel like I have something special.
There is just no beating the price. Even if you don't get the Restock and go with the $479 model, its an amazing guitar for a low low price. It is built and feels like a gibson, if it had the Gibson headstock, I would have no clue it was an Epiphone.
This guitar is just great. The 16th guitar in my collection, and I think it's super.
No set up needed--great, right out of the box, as is. Also, the best price on the net!
First, the pictures don't do this beauty justice. The finish is a sparkle white and the binding is sparkle gold. A stunning guitar to look at. Now the sound. The mahogany body really resonates and helps give the guitar the traditional low end growl of an LP. Definately a thicker sound than a strat. Neck pickup is full and beautiful sounding while the bridge has more bite for lead tones. The guitar sounds fantastic both clean and with overdrive/distortion. My only concern is that the frets could be a little smoother at the edges. A very minor fret detail finishing oversight but worth a mention. Overall a great sounding and looking collectable guitar that is probably a little under priced. Buy it!
Out of the box, this guitar makes your eyes pop out. The white finish, although it looks like a gloss white in the photographs, is a subtile white sparkle. Binding on both the body and neck is a less subtile gold sparkle. A completely unique instrument.
It felt less heavy than a friend's Gibson LP that I'd played before. I had always felt the Gibsons to be too heavy for my taste. The finish and handling characteristcs are superb. Since I never plugged it in (see below), I cannot rate the electronics.
Once in my lap, I noticed that the position markers on the neck binding are absent.
Even after many years on stage with a guitar neck in my left hand, I have never been able to accurately judge where the 3rd, 5th, 7th etc frets are located without the help of the little dots on the binding. I had no intention of creating "after market" position markers.
I carefully returned this guitar to the box.
With this review, I hope I haven't 'blown a sale' for anyone. I was just surprised that the designers had chosen to eliminate the position markers. They are hardly visible to anyone other than the musician and would not have detracted from the overall look.
This guitar cant compare to my Ibanez but completly ties with my other LP. Pickups are great ( their especially good for drop tuning) Grovers keep me in tune. And with this guitar i am now happy.
Im loving the C shaped neck on this guitar!! It's smooth and it's FAST. I own the LP custom and they sound identical (mostly cause of the pups). But, the LP royale is WAY UNDERPRICED comepared to my other LP.
I love the sound. The colors. And i especially adore the neck profile.
NEGATIVE: on the down side the neck is polished which means when your hands get swetty its harder to move up and down the neck.
THIS GUITAR IS SO UNDERPRICED...
