Overview

Epiphone's history and association with Les Paul dates way back to the days when Les, working at the Epiphone factory on 14th St. in New York, created the world's first electric guitar. Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone by reviewing new product ideas and offering suggestions. The Epiphone Les Paul Quilt Top PRO electric guitar combines the best of Les Paul's original design with new features that set this Epiphone guitar apart. Case sold separately.

Professional Electronics
The Les Paul Quilt Top PRO uses Epiphone's 4-wire, nickel/silver base humbuckers with newly tooled, USA-style bobbins. In the neck position is Epiphone's chrome-covered ProBucker 2 with warm, thick vintage tone. It's uniquely paired with a chrome-covered ProBucker 3 humbucker, an inspired by version of Gibson's BurstBucker 3, that features unevenly wound coils and Alnico-II magnets that replicate that "Patent Applied for" airy tone. To top it all off, both volume controls feature push/pull potentiometers allowing you to coil-split each pickup for single-coil sounds. Combined with the 3-way toggle, you get 6 unique sounds from one great Les Paul guitar.

Premium tone woods
The Epiphone Les Paul Quilt Top PRO guitar has a solid mahogany back with a stunning, carved quilted top. Its solid mahogany neck is hand-fitted and glued into the body for excellent neck-to-body contact and resonates almost like one continuous piece of wood.

Loaded with add-ons
Other features on the Epiphone Les Paul included quality Grover tuners, a traditional cream-colored pickguard, and LockTone tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece.

Features
  • Mahogany body
  • Carved quilted maple top
  • 24.75" Scale set-in mahogany neck
  • Rosewood fretboard
  • 22 Medium jumbo frets
  • ProBucker 2 humbucking neck pickup with coil-split
  • ProBucker 3 humbucking bridge pickup with coil-split
  • LockTone tune-o-matic bridge
  • LockTone stopbar tailpiece
  • Grover tuners

I bought the translucent blue version of this it is amazing! So much cooler than flametop! If you are wondering what the difference between this (a PRO) and just a Standard, it means that you can pull the volume knobs up to turn the pickup the knob you pulled up represents to a single-coil instead of a humbucker. I love it! It makes the guitar so much more versatile. Almost never comes out of tune, looks really shiny, don't have to polish it very often. Overall a great guitar. Best in its class

I received this guitar yesterday after having to order it in. I don't have much to say just yet except when I opened the case I was surprised to see a guitar that didn't look like the picture. I'm not sure of the correct term but the guitar above has tiger stripes which is not what I unboxed. The "quilt top" has a cloudy finish on the main body. Whether this looks better or not is up to the beholder but I have to say I was disappointed when I opened it up. It's still a beautiful guitar but I'm not sure what my next steps are just yet. I got what was advertised but I feel I was mislead by an inconsistent photo.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Quilt Top PRO Electric Guitar:

Love the guitar. Went to my local Guitar Center and was going to buy the special 2 instead but this talked to me better. And I walked out with it. Love the feel, the sound and everything else. It is worth the price. Now when I am not at work and I see it I feel the need to pick it up and play it. Also it was as in the photo that Guitar Center has for it.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Quilt Top PRO Electric Guitar:

Loved it in the store and got a good deal.
Once I got it home and did a legit setup on it,
(None of these manufacturers set these things up) I found that it was flatter than a pancake on high bends and the frets were too low.
There was almost no material left to do a fret job on it. I returned it.
Full disclosure, I'm a schecter guy and I love those frets when bending (which I do a lot of)
Good beginner guitar but I'm not such a fan of this as something to play leads with.

Bought this as my "step-up" from entry level LP and what a huge difference there is! Sound quality, feel, ease of playing, not to mention the beautiful quilt top, all make me wish I hadn't waited so long to upgrade!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Quilt Top PRO Electric Guitar:

I was looking for my first les paul type guitar. I am usually a fender guy, however, this Les Paul just struck me as beautiful. It was set up right out of the box. I had little to no work to do setting it up properly. Again, it is strikingly beautiful, and it plays just as good as it sounds. It handles higher-gain setups well, and it is absolutely stunning with a clean setup as well. The push-pull coil split feature is interesting, and I like the tonal differences that it allows when I'm searching for a particular type of sound. The split-coils don't sound like a strat, but the sound is definitely different than non-coil-split options. Lots of tonal possibilities.

This thing sounds as good as my 4x more expensive Gibson LP. It's a blast to play, super comfortable, and I can't get enough of it. I'm blown away at the build quality, the appearance; the entire package is just perfect.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Quilt Top PRO Electric Guitar:

I have the trans blue model. I have only spent a few days with it so far but I had to post some comments. Must say that the setup was perfect. Much better than some more expensive USA made guitars that I have purchased in the past. It played like a dream right out of the box (which I must also note, it was triple boxed, wrapped, and had bubble wrap packing also. This was the best packaged guitar that I have ever had delivered). Great job by the US setup crew. The finish is also perfect. The top on mine is actually nicer and better matched than the one that they chose for the "stock" photo. I am not a professional player, and I have never owned a $5,000 guitar, but I have and currently do own ones that cost much more than this Epiphone, but I would put this up against any of them. The classic Les Paul sound with a beautiful finish at a great price. You won't be disappointed with this one.
