Overview

The Les Paul Junior was first introduced by our legendary Kalamazoo factory in 1954 and was intended as an affordable way for beginners to get the look, sound, and feel of a real Les Paul. However, the Les Paul Junior quickly became a legend of its own. Throughout the years and in all its many incarnations, the Les Paul Junior has been an on-stage favorite for artists like Leslie West of Mountain, Keith Richards, Paul Westerberg of the Replacements, and John Lennon, who all embraced the Les Paul Junior for its lighter weight, commanding sound, and all-mahogany body.

Today, the Epiphone Les Paul Junior is still the best way for beginners to get started on a full-size guitar with real vintage Les Paul tone. And if the Les Paul Junior' rock and roll history wasn™t enough to convince you, check out Rocksmith, the breakthrough guitar video game which features the Epiphone Les Paul Junior as its go-to guitar.

Great Value, playabiliyy and sound.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition LP Junior:

I bought this on sale for $100 to donate. I unboxed it to give it a setup and new strings. I was immediately impressed by the appearance and workmanship. The finish was beautiful; less bursty than the picture. The trans paint was flawless. The guitar was ready to play right out of the box. The pickup is the standard Epi 700T; a great pickup for the money and can be split. It sounded melodic through tube amps, the volume and tone controls were top notch; extremely important for a single pickup instrument. The tonal range was large, and the pickups have coil height adjustments so you can customize it to taste. The tuners were stable. A lot more guitar than I expected.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition LP Junior:

Great guitar, Setup out of the box is spot on. Beautiful color!!!Looks a lot better in person then online. Mahogany center on front really shows through and mine has a greenish tint I really like too. Fit and finish on mine is great also, No paint runs or other blemishes that I could find, And I looked hard!! Lightweight yet still has a solid feel. For a first guitar or an everyday player this is above and beyond its low price. Well worth every penny!!!

    A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition LP Junior:

I DECIDED TO TRY A LP JUNIOR AND WHEN GC GOT SOME IN WITH SET NECKS AND PUT 'EM ON SALE I COULDN'T RESIST. SINCE I'VE NEVER OWNED A BLUE GUITAR BEFORE I WENT WITH THE TRANS BLUE FINISH. JUST GOT IT IN TODAY AND THE FINISH IS WONDERFUL...GREAT BLUE ON THE NECK AND BACK, BURSTING INTO A RICH AQUAMARINE. LOOKS GREAT AND I COULDN'T FIND A FLAW IN IT. GAVE IT A QUICK TUNE AND PLUGGED IN. VOLUME & TONE POTS WERE BOTH SNUG AND SMOOTH, AND THE PICKUP HAS A NICE CLEAN VOICE UP TO ABOUT 7 ON THE CLEAN CHANNEL. WEIGHT AND BALANCE ARE FINE. NECK NEEDS TO BE TWEAKED BUT I'LL PROBABLY PLAY THE SHINE OFF BEFORE I TAKE IT IN FOR A PROPER SET UP. BUT, UNLIKE THE DESCRIPTION, THE ""SET"" NECK WAS BOLTED ON. I CALLED IT IN AND GOT SAM IN CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO SAID HE COULDN'T BELIEVE A SET NECK AT THAT PRICE AND COULD ONLY SAY IT MUST JUST BE A MISPRINT. NO BIG DEAL REALLY, BUT IT KINDA GRATED ON ME. SAM WAS VERY HELPFUL AND APOLOGETIC SO I'M NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT HIS SERVICE, I'M JUST A BIT LET DOWN THAT IT'S NOT A SET NECK. IT PLAYS OK OUTTA THE BOX, BUT I'M BETTING A SET UP WILL MAKE IT RING. I SEEM TO REMEMBER AN OUTFIT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THAT'S PUT OUT A WHOLE STRING OF GREAT GUITARS WITH BOLT ON NECKS SO I GUESS I CAN LIVE WITH THIS ONE.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition LP Junior:

I bought this for a project; I replaced the pickup with a Gibson 57 Classic. To clarify: the neck is bolt-on, despite what the description says, but I don't consider that a particularly bad thing. The stock pickup sounded pretty good considering the price. It behaves like a Gibson humbucker should, even if the sound quality isn't there. My biggest complaints are that the tuning stability isn't very good, and the neck is thinner than I like. On the bright side, the electronics are solid, the finish is very nice, it came with a decent set-up, and it's very playable. Most importantly, it's just a lot of fun.
