The limited-edition, 75th-anniversary "1939" Century Amp is a modern 18W all-tube, combo with a 12" speaker that revives an Art Deco-era masterpiece from Epiphone's early days in Manhattan.
The Epiphone "1939" Century is a faithful replica of the classic 1930s-era cabinet design, including bent rims, an all-metal handle, 6-point star screws and vintage-style grill cloth but with newly designed all-tube electronics. Plus, the "1939" Century includes three uniquely voiced inputs and an internal bias adjustment for further tone control.
In the late 1930s, Epiphone was already blazing a trail for what founder Epi Stathopoulo saw as the future-the electric guitar. And, now, in the 21st century, the "1939" Century Amp returns with a modern all-tube amp design with a powerful, full-toned 12" Electar speaker in a compact, easy-to-carry, cabinet that has been featured in every vintage guitar book.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Electar Century Amplifier:
Finally got mine! (1st one thru the guitar center system I'm told) Came home from work, headed to my den, plugged into the Roland cube I've used for 10 years played a while. Headed upstairs for dinner. Headed down stairs played a while longer. When I reached for a different pick from a dish on the shelf I realized that my darling wife had snuck behind my back & ordered one. Behind the stack of guitars was my bday pressie. My wife was amused it took me two hours to notice. I'm a putz! (Should've got suspicious when she came down while I was riffing some mellow jazz chords and said "I'm closing the door for when you get loud.") Love it! Looks great. Compact lightweight BIG SOUND. The 3 voices are nice. "Dark" gives you the kind of sound you'd want from such a vintage looking amp. Perfect for darker jazz or blues. "Normal" gives a nice more contemporary amp sound crisp clean & crunchy. Just hate having to make a normal selection. May modify the panel to read abnormal! If you are left with the nagging feeling that you should've gotten a Fender amp... the "bright" voice should pretty much scratch that itch. Certainly the different voices cover the bases of the sounds I might want out of this amp. I can't help but think that the voices would be accessed in a more user friendly manner with a 3-way switch versus having to turn off the amp and move the plug from one jack to the other. All on the back & bottom of the amp. Not a deal breaker but a little awkward. I had wanted a tube amp for sometime. Last year I was invited to sit in with a friends band and my little Roland wasn't up to the job. So I wanted a tube amp that could hang with the bigger boys this little beauty should do the job. As I live in a townhouse, I haven't had an appropriate moment to check out how she sounds broken up as sound levels quickly became inappropriate long before the amp was breaking up! However using my OD and fuzz pedals sound great on this amp, (Note to self: turn amp adown a taste if using pedals.) Speaking of pedals... I see a reverb in my future as there is none on the amp & my base sound has a dash to a splash of reverb to it. Without it, it sounds a bit dry to me. Easy fix... Hey the couple of drawbacks are easily outweighed by plusses on this amp. It looks really cool & like most of my guitars it's got that "You got a what...???" factor. Day off is today. I'm gonna see if I can get her to breakup without pissing my wife off! But breaking up is soooo hard to do...
