The Ltd Edition ES-355 body is constructed of 5-layer laminated maple. The solid hard maple 24.75" SlimTaper 1960s "D" profile neck features a rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius and a 1.68" nut width. The neck has classic pearloid "Block" inlays and a vintage-style pearloid "Split Diamond" headstock design. Tuning stability is assured with chrome Grover 14:1 ratio machine heads, a chrome Epiphone LockTone tune-o-matic bridge and a chrome Bigsby Tremolo. The volume and tone knobs, one for each pickup, are Black Speed with pointers for easy reference while on stage.

The Ltd Edition ES-355 incorporates Alnico Classic humbuckers in the neck and bridge position. Patterned after the original Gibson '57 Classics, the Alnico Classic pickups use Alnico-V magnets with enamel wire to give you a tone that is warm and subtle with full, even response that will still give you that classic humbucker overdrive when you need it. The 3-way Epiphone Toggle/pickup selector switch is a deep, aged vintage yellow and is wired for the standard configuration with position one controlling the neck pickup's volume and tone while position two controls the bridge pickup's volume and tone.

The Ltd. Edition ES-355's unique tonal range was the result of its groundbreaking design. A wood block runs through the center of the body so the pickups are mounted much the same way as in a solid body guitar allowing for two hollow chambered areas over the violin style f-holes and in the double cutaway wings. Epiphone is back.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-355 Electric Guitar:

I own 1980 Epiphone acoustic. It has always been one of my favorites. When I started buying electrics about 5 years ago I was was very disappointed with the quality of the Epiphone product line. A month ago I picked up this ES-355 in the Pelham blue and I haven't put it down. Build quality is excellent. Smooth fret edges at the binding. Paint and clear coating are flawless. Nothing about this guitar seems cheap or low end. Rich, full sound as you would expect from a hollow body. Switches all work as expected. It feels great to play - well balanced and the neck is a delight. This is the best guitar decision I have made in many years.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-355 Electric Guitar:

I have read good and bad reviews of this guitar. My guess is if you get a good one you're happy and if not your miserable with it. I bought mine about three years ago and the guitar gets better with age. I haven't changed a thing on the guitar. I still have all original equipment on it. Sound is great. You can use i for rock, blues, jazz whatever. The neck is a bit chunky but not terrible. After you use it a while it gets a nice feel to it. Body is comfortable to hold and as I said the sound gets better with age. I don't use the trem arm that much but it does stay in tune. When I first got it keeping it in tune was an issue but as the guitar aged it became a non issue. A good set of Elixer strings helped a lot. I use 11s on mine and they feel and sound great. Whenever I need a grab and go guitar this is it! I'm not disappointed with it. For the money you can't go wrong.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-355 Electric Guitar:

Sorry to say Epiphone dissapointed me big time on this one. I bought a Bonnamassa Les Paul last year and couldn't be happier. This one, not so good. No gold trim like the promo states. Where the neck attatches to the body looked very undesirable and the sound created by the block of wood inside gives it some very cheap twangy sounding overtones. Also there was no pick guard as stated. I'm going to return it and maybe try the Lucille or the Lennon.
