Introduced in 1958, the Gibson ES-355 was the deluxe version of the ES-335, boasting gold hardware, multi-ply body and neck binding, as well as an ebony fretboard with mother-of-pearl neck and headstock inlays. Like that original model, this Epi version also comes with a Bigsby tailpiece. It's powered by 2 Alnico Classic humbuckers with Alnico V magnets, patterned after the original Gibson '57 Classics. Premium features include a SlimTaper '60s D-profile neck, Grover 14:1 tuners, and LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge.

Epiphone brings back what many guitarists think of as the ultimate player' axe, the ES-355. The ES-355 is one of the most iconic guitar designs in rock and Epiphone has brought it back in all its glory with the Limited Edition 355 in three beautiful finishes; Alpine White, Ebony, and classic Cherry.

The ES-355 Story: When it was first introduced in 1958, the ES-355 style was the world' first thinline archtop semi-electric guitar, a bold new design that combined the cutting, bell-like sustain of a solid body with the darker, complex tones of an archtop. The ES-355 also incorporated the humbucker pickup, a relatively new design that would also be quickly embraced by both rock and blues players. Many think of the ES-355 as one of the best electrics ever made and it' found in the collection of all discriminating guitarists including B.B. King, Keith Richards, Jorma Kaukonen, Chuck Berry, and Noel Gallagher. Now with the Ltd. ES-355 you can have one in your collection, too.

Groundbreaking Design: The Ltd. Edition ES-355' unique tonal range was the result of its groundbreaking design. A wood block runs through the center of the body so the pickups are mounted much the same way as in a solid body guitar allowing for two hollow chambered areas over the violin style f -holes and in the double cutaway wings.

Classic Vintage Styling and Unique Features: The Ltd Edition ES-355 body is constructed of 5-layer laminated Maple and is available in three beautiful finishes: Alpine White, Ebony, and classic Cherry. The solid Mahogany 24.75 SlimTaper„¢ 1960s œD profile neck features an Ebony fingerboard with a 12 radius and a 1.68 nut width. The neck has classic Mother-of-Pearl œBlock inlays and a vintage style Mother-of-Pearl œSplit Diamond headstock design. To top off the vintage styling, Epiphone included a œTortoise style pickguard with multi-binding. Tuning stability is assured with gold Grover„¢ 14:1 ratio machine heads, a gold Epiphone LockTone„¢ Tune-o-matic bridge and a gold Bigsby„¢ Tremolo. The volume and tone knobs, one for each pickup, are Black Speed„¢ with pointers for easy reference while on stage.

Premium Electronics: No detail of the original ES-355 has been missed. The Ltd Edition ES-355 incorporates Alnico Classic„¢ humbuckers in the neck and bridge position. Patterned after the original Gibson '57 Classics, the Alnico Classic„¢ pickups use Alnico-V magnets with enamel wire to give you a tone that is warm and subtle with full, even response that will still give you that classic humbucker overdrive when you need it! The 3-way Epiphone Toggle/pickup selector switch is a deep, aged vintage yellow and is wired for the standard configuration with position one controlling the neck pickup' volume and tone while position two controls the bridge pickup' volume and tone.

Peace of Mind: As with every Epiphone, The Ltd. Edition ES-355 also comes with the peace of mind you get from a Limited Lifetime Warranty backed by Gibson Musical Instruments famous 24/7/265 day Customer Service. No guitar collection is complete without it. Check out an Epiphone Ltd. Edition ES-355 today!

A nice new Epi

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-355 Electric Guitar:

This is a very well made instrument.i ordered mine direct from Epiphone, ALPINE WHITE:).After getting a set up on it,the guitar plays very smooth.the pickups are of good quality, ebony fretboard feels smooth alot of attention to detail on the guitar.nice block inlays looks sharp! the neck is comfortable from top to bottom.volume and tone knobs are nicely done with pointers also cool feature.the body is curved also, not a flat top,so it is comfortable to playing clean or distorted, the notes just ring out of it,Im very satisfied with this purchase.the bigsby vibrato helps hold the sustain of the guitar.i havent really used it too much. The only downside to this is it doesnt come with a hard shell case!! REALLY:( non the less i spent extra to buy one at the store.

A True Work of Art.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-355 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a work of art. One of the nicest feeling guitars I have ever played. The sound is wonderful. By far the best Epiphone I have ever touched and better than many Gibsons. After a setup by my local tech and this baby can sound deep and rich, twangy or have that wonderful crunch you get from a Les Paul. You won't be disappointed.

A Work of Art!

from Trenton, MI

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-355 Electric Guitar:

This is all-around a great guitar. Right off the bat I noticed this guitar's sustain when I plugged it in. The sustain is so smooth and flawless, along with the guitar itself. The neck pickup has a warm, thick sound to it, good for clean sounds while the bridge pickup is very sharp and piercing, which is good for distortion. The neck isn't wide up at the higher frets like a normal Gibson or Epiphone is, but it's rather thin and VERY comfortable to solo on. I have the ebony one, which looks great with the gold hardware and makes all the gold pop more. The Bigsby tremelo is a nice touch to the guitar and adds nice shimmering sounds to chords. This guitar stays in tune extremely well, even with the Bigsby. All in all, this guitar has a nice warm sound, good sustain, and it won't break your wallet. Get one before they're gone!
