Overview

The age-old adage says that left-handed people are the only ones in their right minds. There must be some leftys at Epiphone, because this left-handed Les Paul Standard rocks! With a mahogany and alder body, maple veneer over carved top, and set neck, you can wail away 'till the cows come home. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide more sustain and make string changing easier. Two Alnico Classic humbucking pickups take the great sustain and tone of your Les Paul and fire it straight to your amp, and the world rejoices - or at least the neighborhood. Case sold separately.

what a guitar!

By Austin

from reserve, louisiana

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

i got this guitar for christmas and its amazing. i used to play a harmony( which i do not advise). this guitar is very easy to bend notes with and has good harmonics.it has grover tuners. the only thing i dont dig is the "handcrafted in china" sticker, but you could easily take it off. its hard to find the perfect lefty guitar but this is exactly what i wanted.

Great Guitar for a Lefty!!

By Shelly

from Florence, KY

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Every left-handed player knows how hard it is to find a good quality guitar at a reasonable price. This guitar is more expensive than some, but worth every penny you pay for it.. It is very easy to play. I highly recommend this one for a left-handed beginner.

Save Money--Don't Buy The Gibson, This One's The Same

By VintageGuitarGuy

from Raleigh, NC

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Got this Les Paul a few years back as a gift and have really gotten to know it. Here's the breakdown: Pickups: I'm more of a P-90 man, and the neck pickup sounds a little bland, so I usually crank the treble on my amp to compensate. The middle and bridge positions sound great, though. Hardware and Electronics: Tuners, nut, and stoptail are very good and feel solid. Two knobs were set so low that they dug into the body and two knobs were set 1/4" off the body, so this was a little concerning and needed to be adjusted (not a job for beginners). The tone controls (esp. the bridge) do almost nothing, so I would suggust replacements. The interior electronics and input jack are all very good quality. The plastics do feel cheap, but for this price... I'll take 'em. Neck and Body: The neck is a good standard Gibson-style neck. I like thin Epiphone (Casino-style) necks, but this one feels okay. I probably will never own another black guitar because this finish shows every fingerprint, nick, and grease mark and requires frequent cleaning. Neck joint is very solid. Overall Feel and Tone: Good guitar for classic rock and even jazz. Since its a Les Paul, it is heavy, but sometimes while playing live I don't even feel the guitar. Good Les Paul tone. The volume controls respond very well to your amp and vice versa. Bottom Line: If you are a beginning or advanced player, don't spend the unnessecary money and buy a Gibson. You are paying for the name. Epiphones are great guitars and anyone who says they aren't is a fool. They are built with the same standard and level of workmanship as American Gibsons. If you close your eyes, they sound the same. Please consider this guitar if you want a Les Paul.

Fooled Many Others!

By Nick

from Colorado

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about 2 years ago and have used it in many many shows all over. It has great sound to it, so much so that others were surprised it was an Les Paul. Easy to bend, easy to manage. Only down side i could see is that this guitar is a little more heavier. Still manageable, but solid! Great guitar!!

my first guitar

By ant

from new jersey

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

i bought this guitar yesterday as my first electric and it sounds great!!!! after plaaying acoustic for 5 months i really wanted to crank the distortion all the way up and jam on it..... the tone was amazing... i played avenged sevenfold riffs and they sounded so crunchy. then i played some chili peppers riffs and the sound just shimmers out of my amp. ( vox valvetronix 15 watt) this guitar is great and i dont see myself getting another for quite a while

Great guitar for left handed

By Bob

from Boston, MA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I picked this guitar up yesterday and i am just blown away! The strings are easy to bend and it has trapezoid fret inlays which i really like. With a good amp, this can sound great. You could absolutely pull off Gn'R or Aerosmith riffs. Really the only thing I don't like is the "Handcrafted in China" sticker and peeling it off dosen't make a difference. Overall I really do like this guitar and if your in a band, this could work as your main axe.

Exactly the same as the right handed Epiphone Les Paul.

By Spencer Loftis

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I'll start by saying that I own two Epiphone Les Pauls. This one and a right handed standard. They're the same guitar. This one is just left handed. Both are excellent guitars with a great sound. There don't seem to be any quality control issues. I'd recommend this to any lefties out there.

Beautiful Guitar

By Taylor Rigelman

from Washington

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

This guitar is really amazing. It is the most beautiful guitar ever and it looks way better then the pictures show. The only thing I was upset about was it came with a broken string but it also was perfectly polished and has great sound. I definitely recomend this guitar over all of the other ones in your price range!!!

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

ok this is an awome guitar.... but there are some bad things about it tho... 1st it is made in china and taking off the sticker doesnt change that. the pickups r good if you like all of the notes blending in2 everything which is pretty annoying(just get new 1s) the intinations are so ways screwed up ive had 2 fix them a few times but its not really a big deal.. the good stuff is its pretty its light 4 a les paul and it sounds good once you fix everything so i recomend this but just make sure you fix this stuff so u dont sound like an idiot trying 2 play a song at a gig THE END

    great buy

    By sir smokes a lot

    from asheville nc

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Considering the price, the quality of this guitar cant be beat. I've had it for about six months now and its been loads of fun. I wouldnt go so far as to say its a professional musicians first choice(desperately needed intanation and the pickups could be better), but c'mon - 420 bucks - just buy the thing. I have no other complaints.

Good Value, Needs Little In The Way Of Upgrades

          By Stevie B Boudreaux

          from Marietta, GA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I bought mine slightly used, but only ever so slightly used. And yes, I did a couple of upgrades- Burstbucker Pro pups and Gibson Grover tuners. Neither was really needed; nonetheless the pups made a dramatic difference, for the better, in the guitar's tone, the tuners were functionally the same as the Grovers that came on it, only benefit was their "bell" shaped heads. If I hadn't had the tuners from way back when, when Mars Music went belly-up, I wouldn't have bothered. The guitar is a very fine one. Not perfect, but a surpising value, given that you are paying something just for the name. I'd recommend it. Oh, btw, I am listening to the Cranberries while I write this. That band REALLY makes me wish I were young enough to be taken seriously as a rocker...

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Super solid for the money. Epiphone has really good quality and I tried really hard but could not justify buying a Gibson when I could get this for the price. Nut upgrade, wiring, caps and pots, pickups and you have a guitar that plays and sounds like one two to three times the price after all is said and done.
