Overview

The age-old adage says that left-handed people are the only ones in their right minds. There must be some leftys at Epiphone, because this left-handed Les Paul Standard rocks! With a mahogany and alder body, maple veneer over carved top, and set neck, you can wail away 'till the cows come home. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide more sustain and make string changing easier. Two Alnico Classic humbucking pickups take the great sustain and tone of your Les Paul and fire it straight to your amp, and the world rejoices - or at least the neighborhood. Case sold separately.

great buy

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Considering the price, the quality of this guitar cant be beat. I've had it for about six months now and its been loads of fun. I wouldnt go so far as to say its a professional musicians first choice(desperately needed intanation and the pickups could be better), but c'mon - 420 bucks - just buy the thing. I have no other complaints.

          Great guitar for the price

          By Jeremy Warner

          from Evansville, IN

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Great guitar for the price and about as close to the sound and feel of a genuine Les Paul as you can get. I have owned this guitar for a couple weeks now and the more I play it the more I like it. I had to make several adjustments before I could make it playable so needless to say, I was not impressed by the initial setup from the factory. The strings were dirt cheap and the low E had a dog-leg kink in it between the pickup and bridge. Once I adjusted the truss rod, changed strings, adjusted the intonation, and action height, it was good to go. The factory setup was terrible so plan on doing all of these things if you buy a new one. I still have a slight issue keeping two of the strings in tune after slight bending so I think I will replace the factory nut with a graph-tec. The pickups are pretty hot also. Well above average and the harmonics and sustain is great for a mid level epiphone. All in all a great buy for the price paid.

Exactly the same as the right handed Epiphone Les Paul.

          By Spencer Loftis

          from Greenville, SC

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I'll start by saying that I own two Epiphone Les Pauls. This one and a right handed standard. They're the same guitar. This one is just left handed. Both are excellent guitars with a great sound. There don't seem to be any quality control issues. I'd recommend this to any lefties out there.

Save Money--Don't Buy The Gibson, This One's The Same

          By VintageGuitarGuy

          from Raleigh, NC

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Got this Les Paul a few years back as a gift and have really gotten to know it. Here's the breakdown: Pickups: I'm more of a P-90 man, and the neck pickup sounds a little bland, so I usually crank the treble on my amp to compensate. The middle and bridge positions sound great, though. Hardware and Electronics: Tuners, nut, and stoptail are very good and feel solid. Two knobs were set so low that they dug into the body and two knobs were set 1/4" off the body, so this was a little concerning and needed to be adjusted (not a job for beginners). The tone controls (esp. the bridge) do almost nothing, so I would suggust replacements. The interior electronics and input jack are all very good quality. The plastics do feel cheap, but for this price... I'll take 'em. Neck and Body: The neck is a good standard Gibson-style neck. I like thin Epiphone (Casino-style) necks, but this one feels okay. I probably will never own another black guitar because this finish shows every fingerprint, nick, and grease mark and requires frequent cleaning. Neck joint is very solid. Overall Feel and Tone: Good guitar for classic rock and even jazz. Since its a Les Paul, it is heavy, but sometimes while playing live I don't even feel the guitar. Good Les Paul tone. The volume controls respond very well to your amp and vice versa. Bottom Line: If you are a beginning or advanced player, don't spend the unnessecary money and buy a Gibson. You are paying for the name. Epiphones are great guitars and anyone who says they aren't is a fool. They are built with the same standard and level of workmanship as American Gibsons. If you close your eyes, they sound the same. Please consider this guitar if you want a Les Paul.

          Great guitar for left handed

          By Bob

          from Boston, MA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I picked this guitar up yesterday and i am just blown away! The strings are easy to bend and it has trapezoid fret inlays which i really like. With a good amp, this can sound great. You could absolutely pull off Gn'R or Aerosmith riffs. Really the only thing I don't like is the "Handcrafted in China" sticker and peeling it off dosen't make a difference. Overall I really do like this guitar and if your in a band, this could work as your main axe.
