Epiphone Les Paul Standard

By LesPaulGuy2121

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

As a lot of the other reviews say, if you are left handed and looking to buy a new go guitar, go with this one! It's sounds absoulutely amazing for the price. I've played gibson's before and then right after played an epiphone and noticed NO difference at all. Seriously, if your left handed and in need of a new guitar, GO WITH THE LEFT HANDED EPIPHONE LES PAUL STANDARD!

Lefties step up front

By LeftyLesPaul

from Charlotte, NC

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Being left handed it is very hard to find the kind of guitar that you want, especialy one that sounds good. Some people say that Epiphone is a fake Gibson, but really theres nothing fake about this guitar. The only problem what so ever is if you turn the amp up REALLY loud, theres a little fuzz but with a distortion pedal, you dont notice it. If you a lefty looking for the style and sound of a Les Paul, GET THIS GUITAR.

Excellent Left Middie Electric

By trujoe3

from Fairfax, VA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for about a year now and am quite satisfied with its performance and overall playability. I recommend changing out the strings from the factory ones, oiling the fret board, and just giving it a quick tune-up if you order it online. Mine came and it just appeared to have been on display as it was dusty. Beyond that though, the guitar itself is great. It holds notes perfectly with its awesome sustain. Bending, plucking, hammering, and pull-offs are a blast to do on the lower frets (esp after a string change with some Elixirs lights). Treble and Rythm both capture the electronics of the guitar great and couple well with my amp, a Spider 6. Weight-wise its a comparable to other electrics, and with a strap no worries whatsoever. Only superficial complaint I have is the knobs. They don't blend flush with the guitar and kinda jerk out (could just be mine). But again, its not a deal breaker. Overall, a solid buy for any Leftie looking for a quality, mid or high end beginner left-handed electric.

Lovely, yet decently price upgrade!

By BluSouthPaw

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I bought an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus-Top Memorial Day weekend, and is it sweet! Where to start... well as a lefty, this was a bargain. Because of the sale, it was only $300, compared to the $564 it usually is. Thank you GC!! The finish is superb. The flame maple is gorgeous and looks very professional, rivaling any kind of Gibson finish I've seen. The cream binding is perfect! The neck is comfortable the set neck makes the lower frets very easy to access. The Grover tuners are very trustworthy, and do not go out of tune too easily. The stock pups are pretty good, but I'm considering getting new ones in the future. But for now, they sound great, much better than my Epiphone Les Paul Special II. This is a great lefty for an intermediate player like myself (I've been playing for about a year). I definitely recommend it to any lefty looking for a great sounding, low budget guitar! :D

Great Guitar!!!!

By aaaafffggghhh

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Lefties have a hard time to find a great guitar at a shop, but this beauty is truly amazing. This guitar is beautiful, has very rich tone, and can be you axe in possibly any genre. The only thing is that the input gets a bit loose after a while, but you just got to tighten and keep on jammin. For price, I think this is the best quality guitar that you can find. Buying this is no regret!!!

What an Epic Epi!

By Graham

from Mobile, AL

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for almost 2 years exactly and it has not let me down. Upon purchasing this fine instrument I did have to adjust the truss rod to correct the excessive warp in the fretboard, but this is a common procedure. Other than that the fretboard itself needed oiling and she was good to go! I absolutely love this guitar! I have played virtually every genre with this thing. The cleans sing, the treble pickup screams high gain leads, the rythm pickup makes for milky solos and rich clean chords. The grover tuners on mine keep in tune very well, even with all the bending I do. And the finish...ah...breathless. In the right light just after polishing...amazing. I have actually played a vintage 1980s Gibson Custom Shop LP and preferred my Epi. I highly recommend this guitar for any beginner, intermediate, or anyone looking for a high quiality instrument that will last and deliver that coveted Les Paul tone. And for a third of the price or less than a Gibson, this deal can't be beat.

WOW!!

By Tom Redfern

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I bought myself this guitar for Christmas. HOLY COW! What a guitar. I own a Fender Stratocaster,A Fender acoustic. I cannot put this Epi LP down. I much prefer sound that this puts out compared to the fender. I really like the way it feels in my hands. The light weight is great. Easy playability, Smooth neck, Great tone, the sustain seems to go on forever. If your a Lefty, do yourself a favor and get yourself one of these guitars. VERY reasonably priced.

I Love my LP!

By Mike

from Clinton, IA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I bought my Les Paul Standard Plus a couple of months ago and have enjoyed every minute playing it. If you like that classic humbucker sound (think Thin Lizzy, Bad Company), this is the guitar for you. These Chinese-made guitars are as good as anything Epiphone has built in years. They're a great value not only due to the quality construction, but there's its timeless look that makes my pulse race every time I strap it on. I have no reservations about taking my Les Paul out and playing live either. Stick a decent set of strings on her and rock out!

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

This guitar can easily master clean, metal, alternative, classic rock, just anything you could throw at it. The cherry sunburst in my opinion looks fantastic always catches peoples attention when i take it out. I have had this guitar for about 6 months and i have no complaints at all, andnothing has broken or had to be repaired on it. Great buy for an outstanding price.

worth it

By Tim Faiella

from Pullman, WA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

This is a nasty guitar. I love the looks of the guitar pictured here, and I was a little thrown off because the picture doesn't look like what I received. The paint is a cherry sunburst and the tuners are chrome(it actually looks a lot more like the picture for the LP100, just with chrome pickup covers). As soon as I plugged it in, my concerns vanished. It sounds incredible and is a lot of fun to play.

Next Best Thing

By CARL BRUDIN

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I've been playing a beat up old Fender strat for years. I always wanted and loved the sound of a Gibson Les Paul, and being a lefty, could never really afford one $$$, We're talking 2 $$$ grand and up!!. So now I had some cash and wanted to get a new guitar. I read the reviews, played one in the store and bought an Epiphone. Looks and plays and sounds just like a real Gibson. I love it, It sounds sooo much better than my Fender strat!. I play and sound soo much better. Equipment does make a difference! I have a nice good new Fender AMP as well, Just remember the amp makes 50% of your sound. Guitar Center has a great online order process. Within days of ordering it, I had it at my door, They also had the best price and I can order with confindence of a great deal and get brand spanking new equipment. I was looking at buying one off ebay, but why? Order from Guitar Center.! Itۡs fast and easy!!! Rock on..

What a guitar.

By WaDD

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

As other reviewers have stated, high quality lefty guitars are hard to come buy. However this baby is a true diamond in the rough. It plays like a dream and with the exception of the label, is pretty much a Gibson. I noticed a small problem, however. There is a slight buzz at full volume when you plug it in through a pedal. HOWEVER, I recently bought a Line 6 Spider 3 amp, and with that there is no buzz at all, both through a pedal and straight to the amp.
